PPP mengalu-alukan pelancaran skim khas SARA-1Malaysia (Amanah Rakyat 1Malaysia), melalui PNB bagi orang-orang yang berpendapatan RM3, 000 ke bawah. Skim khas ini telah dilancarkan oleh Perdana Menteri, YAB Dato 'Sri Mohd Najib hari ini untuk menambah pendapatan boleh guna dan simpanan di kalangan golongan berpendapatan rendah. Kerajaan telah sentiasa melaksanakan pelbagai program untuk rakyat untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup rakyat pertengahan dan golongan berpendapatan rendah. Skim khas ini membolehkan mereka yang layak untuk melabur RM5, 000, melalui penjimatan atau melalui pinjaman daripada institusi kewangan yang dipilih. Skim ini juga akan membayar insentif bulanan sebanyak RM134, dan pada akhir 5 tahun, para peserta akan mendapat jumlah sebanyak RM13, 000 untuk pelaburan RM5, 000. PPP berharap setiap rakyat Malaysia yang layak untuk skim ini mengambil kesempatan program ini, permohonan untuk Skim ini akan dibuka pada 30 Januari 2012.

Nurul jangan main politik kotor

Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai tidak perlu menghasut pelajar-pelajar lain ke atas penggantungan Adam Adili Abdul Halim, dan isu ini tidak ada apa-apa kaitan dengan politik. Nurul tidak harus mengpolitikkan isu ini untuk kepenting politik sendiri, bukankah ianya satu kesalahan untuk menurunkan bendera Perdana Menteri Malaysia, YAB Dato 'Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak? Beliau sebaliknya harus memberi nasihat dan minta pelajar tidak melibatkan diri dalam apa-apa cua aktiviti yang tidak sihat untuk diri mereka dan negara.

Nurul juga harus memahami bahawa kejadian ini berlaku di luar kampus dan pelajar perlu mematuhi undang-undang dan peraturan universiti dan kita tidak perlu melindungi pelajar seperti ini. Ini juga bukanlah budaya kita dan ianya tidak ada apa-apa kena-mengenai dengan budaya ketakutan di kalangan orang muda, kita harus berani berdiri mempertahankan diri dan negara daripada ansai-ansai musuh daripada luar. Ianya tidak waras untuk Nurul menghasut semua rakyat Malaysia ini untuk menentang kerajaan kerana tindakan displin yang telah diambil oleh Upsi terhadap Adam.

Ini menunjukan agenda politik pembangkang yang menghasut rakyat dan pelajar menentang kerajaan semata-mata untuk melihat keadaan huru-hara berlaku di Negara ini. Kenyataan Nurul juga menunjukkan berniat jahat dan motif kotor pembangkang sebaliknya.

Rang Undang-undang Berhimpun Secara Aman harus dilihat dari sedut positif

Rang Undang-Undang Berhimpun Secara Aman (Peaceful Assembly Bill) seharusnya di lihat dari sisi yang positif dan bukannya menolak kerana agenda politik yang tertentu, sebab mereka harus faham ianya adalah kehendak rakyat. Pembangkang yang sudah melihat Rang Undang-undang ini agar takut dan gentar apa kah kerosakkan, ia akan membawa kepada mereka jika ianya diluluskan. Mereka tidak bimbang sama ada ianya sesuai dan praktikal untuk negara. Rang Undang-undang telah disediakan dengan niat yang baik, kerana ia tidak membenarkan keganasan dan menjauhkan diri mereka daripada mengambil kelebihan keadaan di negara ini. Saya benar-benar bersetuju bahawa warga asing dan anak-anak harus dilarang sama sekali daripada mengambil bahagian dalam perhimpunan itu, dan garis panduan yang jelas dan sedia ada memang tepat sekali apa yang boleh dilakukan dan tidak boleh dilakukan semasa mengadakan dan kepada orang-orang yang terlibat dalam perhimpunan aman ini.

Malaysia adalah negara demokrasi tetapi terdapat faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi tingkah laku rakyat, kadang-kadang denda yang berat boleh dapat membendung apa-apa aktiviti yang tidak baik. Kini di bawah Rang Undang-Undang ini, sesiapa yang ingin berhimpun secara aman tidak perlu untuk memohon permit polis, yang merupakan sesuatu yang pembangkang telah berharap sejak dulu. Walau bagaimanapun, semua perlu mematuhi syarat-syarat yang ditetapkan dalam undang-undang. Jika Rang Undang-undang ini diluluskan ia juga akan melindungi orang lain yang yang tidak terlibat dalam perhimpunan seperti ini, di mana protes jalanan memberikan kesan negatif kepada perdagangan tempatan, membawa kegancaman kepada keselamatan negara dan boleh mewujudkan keganasan, yang juga akan membawa kepada rusuhan adalah sesuatu yang kita harus elakkan.

Setakat sebagai pembangkang bimbang mereka tidak akan bersetuju untuk apa-apa jua yang kerajaan mencadangkan dan Rang Undang-undang ini sudah tentu tidak akan mendapat persetujuan mereka. Apabila berhimpun secara aman dibenarkan kenapa perlu protes jalanan? Saya juga mengalu-alukan langkah tiada bantahan yang dibenarkan di dalam atau di mana-mana sahaja dalam zon penampan 50 meter termasuk hospital, sekolah dan tempat-tempat ibadat kerana terdapat pihak-pihak tertentu yang mengambil kelebihan situasi itu dan menyalahkan kerajaan jika apa-apa yang berlaku di tempat-tempat tersebut.

Kita harus mengalu-alukan langkah yang dibuat oleh kerajaan selepas mendengar dan mendapat maklum balas daripada 'rakyat'. Pembangkang harus menghargai bahawa kerajaan memberi peluang untuk rakyat untuk menyuarakan pendapat mereka dan bukannya melihat semua dari sudut negatif.

Kerajaan sentiasa saksama terhadap kumpulan minoriti

Kerajaan sentiasa saksama ke arah kumpulan minoriti di negara ini tanpa mengira siapa mereka. Apakah "Seksualiti Merdeka" ini dan mengapakah perlu menggunakan perkataan merdaka, yang bermakna "kebebasan". Adakah ini bermakna kumpulan ini menggalakkan seks bebas kerana itu adalah apa yang saya faham dalam perkataan Merdeka Seksualiti? Oleh itu, apa yang pihak polis buat untuk membendung “ill social” aktiviti ini adalah padat, dan itulah sebab bekas menteri kewangan Malaysia telah dihantar ke penjara pada tahun 1998.

Ada pihak yang kekeliruan dan kini tiba-tiba orang-orang seperti Datin Marina Mahathir menyokong kumpulan ini dan menyuarakan perkara-perkara yang menentang kerajaan yang beliau tidak pernah lakukan semasa bapa beliau iaitu Tun Mahathir menjadi Perdana Menteri negara ini. Kini, mereka menghebohkan perkara ini dengan pembangkang semata-mata untuk menghinakan kerajaan seolah-olah kerajaan buruk merawat minoriti, dimana ianya tidak benar. Kerajaan kita memang terbuka kepada pendidikan seks, yang diterima secara meluas dalam sistem pendidikan kita hari ini.

Kumpulan minoriti ini telah diterima dengan baik dalam masyarakat ini dan parti pembangkang dan orang-orang seperti Ambiga, Marina Mahathir dan Anwar Ibrahim perlu berhenti menghebohkan isu ini yang akan menimbulkan kebencian terhadap kerajaan dan mereka perlu mencari isu-isu yang ‘constructive’ terhadap kerajaan. Janganlah membangkit sesuatu isu untuk semata-mata bagi agenda politikal sendiri. Pihak yang tidak bertanggunjawab ini harus berhenti menghasut rakyat untuk menentang kerajaan mengunakan tactic kotor ini. Tindakan yang tegas perlu diambil terhadap sesiapa yang membawa ancaman terhadap ketenteraman rakyat dan kerajaan.

Tian Chua menembak seperti meriam longgar

Saya fikir Ahli Parlimen Batu tidak mempunyai isu-isu lain yang konkrit terhadap kerajaan, tetapi kini bercakap mengenai prestasi Perdana Menteri adalah sesuatu yang tidak boleh dibenarkan. Meminta Dewan Rakyat untuk membahas pemotongan satu bulan gaji Perdana Menteri adalah satu taktik murah oleh pembangkang untuk mengalihkan perhatian rakyat sekali lagi.

Memandangkan ekonomi dunia yang tidak stabil, tetapi YAB Dato 'Sri Najib dengan berani dan tabah telah membentangkan satu bajet 2012 terbaik dalam sejarah Malaysia. Beliau juga telah memperkenalkan pelbagai pembaharuan untuk meningkat lagi pendapatan negara melalui ‘Program Transformsi Ekonomi’. Tian Chua bernasib baik kerana dikekalkan sebagai Ahli Parlimen Batu walaupun selepas disabitkan melalui kes mahkamah. Sebagai Ahli Parlimen Batu hampir 3 ½ tahun beliau tidak melakukan apa-apa di Batu yang membawa apa-apa manfaat kepada rakyat.

Pembangkang hanya tahu bagaimana untuk mencari kesalahan dan menuding jari pada kerajaan malah mereka tidak lakukan apa-apa berhasil untuk menangani masalah rakyat. Kenapa gaji perdana menteri perlu dipotong dan ada kah ini satu justifikasi yang rasional? Motif Ahli Parlimen Batu ini adalah semata-mata untuk memalukan Perdana Menteri kita, saya rasa satu tindakan tegas perlu diambil terhadapnya kerana dia tidak layak menjadi Ahli Parlimen. Pengundi Batu perlu sedar bahawa kita perlukan Ahli Parlimen MP yang akan berjuang demi kemuliaan dan kesejahteraan rakyat, akan bukan tetapi untuk diri mereka sendiri.

Tian Chua perlu memeriksa fakta sebelum menembak seperti meriam longgar, kerana rakyat tahu apa yang dilakukan oleh Perdana Menteri kita.

JASA turun padang dengan PPP di Sri Johor

PPP Bandar Tun Razak bersama dengan JASA telah turun padang untuk menyalurkan bantuan sempena perayaan deepavali kepada rakyat miskin di kawasan Sri Johor. Pada program itu seramai 25 kaum India terdiri daripada mereka yang berpendapatan rendah, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) menerima sumbangan wang tunai dan hamper.

Puan Noori, dari Jabatan Hal Ewhal Khas berkata, pemberian bantuan itu adalah bagi meringankan beban dan membolehkan mereka membuat persiapan menyambut perayaan Deepavali pada 26 Okt ini. Menurut beliau bahawa ini adalah salah satu program JASA untuk mendekati rakyat dan untuk kenalpasti mereka yang memerlukan bantuan.
Saya juga turut sama dalam program ini, PPP sedang berusaha untuk mengemaskini pengkalan data rakyat yang miskin dan yang memerlukan bantuan daripada Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia. Jadi melalui program turun padang ini kita juga dapat mendaftar sesiapa yang belum daftar dengan JKM dan membantu mereka untuk mendaftar supaya mereka boleh mendapat bantuan ini pada masa depan.

PPP juga berterima kasih kepada JASA Pirhatin yang telah berusaha dan mengambil berat untuk menangani masalah rakyat miskin di Bandar Tun Razak dengan kerjasama PPP Bandar Tun Razak.

Debate is not necessary on 2012 budget

Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, a debate is not necessary. The 2012 budget announced by the Prime Minister is one of the best budgets in the history of Malaysian budget, so I do not see the need why the budget should be debated. When you were the finance minister you have not done anything significant for country or its economic, but today the Malaysia people are happy for once we are seeing a people’s budget, which is realistic. We know the opposition could not accept the fact that this is a damn good budget, because for them whatever Barisan Nasional does is NOT good.

Therefore, do not waste your time calling the Prime Minister for a debate, because as a advisor for PKR your urgent advise is needed in PKR more than this debate. Let the BN government handle what have been proposed in the 2012 budget, furthermore the debate will only hinder BN’s progress moving forward, and I think this is what Anwar is trying to do. As PPP is concerned the 2012 budget has been very carefully charted based on observation, facts finding mission, inputs from various industries and the a direct communication with the people via various media by the Prime Minister. We should give credit to the Prime Minister who has bravely tabled this budget giving the highest priority to the people as the 1Malaysia slogan “People First, Performances Now”.

So the opposition and Anwar Ibrahim should stop criticizing and start doing something effectively for the people in their parliament rather than always throwing malicious lies and barking at BN in whatever they does.

PPP membawa ceria kepada 300 rakyat

PPP Bandar Tun Razak telah membawa keceriahan kepada 300 rakyat miskin di kawasan Bukit Jalil apabila mereka di beri duit Diwali sebanyak RM100 kepada setiap orang. Walaupun Deepavali akan di sambut pada 26 Oktober 2011, tetap PPP Bandar Tun Razak telah mengadakan program ‘Irama Deepavali 2011 dan Bantuan Amal’ untuk menyalurkan duit Deepavali kepada 300 penduduk di kawasan ini. Presiden PPP YBhg Datuk Seri M Kayveas telah merasmikan program ini baru-baru di perkarangan PPR Kg. Muhibbah dan beliau berterima kasih PPP Bandar Tun Razak yang berjaya menganjurkan program ini sempena sambutan deepavali 2011. Saya dapati PPP Bandar Tun Razak sentiasa aktif dan berusaha untuk membawa perubahan dan peningkatan ulas Datuk Seri M Kayveas. Datuk Seri Kayveas berpendapat Barisan Nasional saja yang sentiasa memberi bantuan kepada rakyat dan pembangkang hanya bercakap dan tidak bertangungjawab terhadap rakyat, mereka hanya pandai putar belit apa saja kerajaan BN melaksanakan.

Ini adalah salah satu bantuan dan aktiviti PPP yang dianjurkan semasa perayaan seperti ini. Menurut beliau semasa perayaan banyak yang menghadapi masalah kewangan, dan sedikit bantuan wang tunai seperti ini dapat mengurangkan beban mereka. Barisan Nasional sentiasa pirhatin terhadap rakyat jelata dan mengambil berat dan komited terhadap rakyat seperti slogan 1Malaysia Rakyat didahulukan, Pencapaian diutamakan.
Situasi PPR berbeza dari tempat perumahan teras, kita dapati ada banyak masalah dalam pelbagai bentuk dan banyak diantara penduduk dikawasan ini adalah daripada golongan miskin tegap yang memerlukan perhatian. PPP meninjau ke setiap peti undi untuk mendapat maklumat keadaan rakyat dan berhasrat untuk mengumpul data dan fokus kepada bantuan yang dapat disalurkan daripada kerajaan dari masa kesemasa. Bajet 2012 juga akan memberi manafaat kepada rakyat seperti yang telah diperuntukkan.

Well planned 2012 budget

BN government has given the highest priority putting the people first in preparing the 2012 budget. The Prime Minister has addressed the core issues affecting the people and their welfares. I would say the government has also taken great step and necessary measure in the budget focusing revenue to be increased and reducing deficit is very positive. Further the government proposes to increase TEKUN to RM300 million and providing RM2.1 Billion for Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia for micro financing to entrepreneurs, particularly for women is also move forward. From this RM100 million will be for Malaysian Indian entrepreneurs and another RM100 million for Chinese entrepreneurs should bring cheers to these communities. PPP welcomes the 2012 budget which have taken into account of all the sectors at the same time introducing new sector MyCreative Venture Capital which will be established with an initial fund of RM200 million. I believe this will entice our youth’s to come up with new ideas and creation.

* One-off RM500 cash assistance for households with monthly income below RM3,000
* Free Human Papilloma Virus immunisation nationwide to prevent cervical cancer

Mat Sabu should be charged under sedition act..

Some says these are just political stunt that Mat Sabu created to get the attention from the people. Whether it is good or bad he has got the publicity and the attention because now everyone is talking about him. He should have been charged by now in the sedition act as he have touched on such a sensitive issues of the country with regards to the Bukit Kepong incident which now gives a negative view to the youngster especially during ‘Merdeka’ celebration.

It is hilarious to note that suddenly, Mat Sabu is reverting historical evidence by saying that the ‘Communist Guerillas’ were the real heroes, so not the polices personnel and the families who were killed in this tragedy? I don’t know who this joker is (PAS Deputy President) but I think he is insane, as he is resorting to cheap publicity by bring up event that has taken place more than 61 years ago.

This too goes to show that this guy ‘Mat Sabu’ is trying a cheap tactic to gain some quarters support by insulting our freedom fighters, and it is disheartening that his statement came during the celebration of Merdeka and Hari Raya Adilfitri.

I don’t think apology alone is enough but the Home Ministry should take stern action him to show the public that they do not condone such nonsense.

Bersih just a waste?

What Bersih have left after July 9 incident. Many feel’s that Bersih have done a great job. Many felt that Bersih was just another flip off to confuse the people at large, instrumental used by DSAI. Whatever said and done end of the day Bersih have created certain amount of impact say some and the public felt that government should have given in to their demands.

Just look at the incident that took place in London, who should be held responsible, the people have suffered end of the day! Going by history and such incident I would say our Police have done a great job in curbing Bersih before any unwanted incident like what took place in London.

What was Bersih actually fighting for, suddenly they demanded 8 reforms from SPR, why this, look at one of the requirement ‘Fair Election’ if the EC have not been fair could the opposition have won 82 parliament seats? If the EC had not been fair could the opposition have won 5 states in 2008 General Election, or could the opposition have won 10 parliaments seats in the Federal Territory out of eleven? If they say BN have cheated, how come Gerakan lost all their seats in Penang? Than it is Gerakan who should be saying that EC has not been fair. Another example is Kelantan, if EC has not been fair could PAS be ruling Kelantan for the last 21 years.

Where is the logic, who is this Dato’ Ambiga, there are so many other problems the government is facing, like weakening economics, soaring oil price worldwide, imported landed goods has been shooting up, cost of living is going up and many more, what have she done to address this issues? They are only making situation worst for the country where tourism income, FDI and others will shy away if our countries political situation is unstable. As a former Bar Council President she have not done anything to address the people’s issues but now merely harping on EC reforms, manipulating the situation with the oppositions to weaken the government with ill intention. Look at their request on the use of incredible ink this is used by countries with large population, where they don’t have an identity card. In Malaysia it is different everyone have identity cards and we are verified by ‘MyKad’, so what is their problem?

The opposition does not have any solid issue against the government, to play it before the 13th General Election, so they have come up with this Bersih to confuse the people and to show the world that our government is corrupt and not fair during the election. As Malaysian, we have to evaluate and understand what is happening around us, not just believing in whatever we read, see or hear.

Just heed to Agong's call

Berish should just abide by the call made by the Yang di Pertuan Agong to call off the rally schedule for on 9 July 2011. It is not necessary for Dato’ Ambiga to seek audiences with the King, she should first respect the decision and call made by the King and cancel the rally before any discussion. She should understand the trouble the people and the country would go through if the rally continues, being a legal person and a former bar council president, Ambiga have not done anything significant for the country, now trying to champion EC issues and calling for fair election is just rhetoric and political agenda of the opposition to undermine the present government.

If the election has not been fair, would Barisan Nasional lose their 2/3 majorities? If the countries election system is not fair how could BN lose 80 over parliament seats and 10 parliament seats in Wilayah Persekutuan? This is what they should understand first before asking the people of this country to join them in a rally blindly just for some individual political gains. Bersih’s call does not justifies the fundamental rights and the core issues of the country, they should be more responsible, not just put innocent people’s life in danger.

The government have never stopped Bersih from gathering, have the gathering in a stadium, away from the streets, as street demonstration could bring lots of other disadvantages i.e. maybe a pregnant mother could be denied medical aids if she get stuck in the traffic, foreign investors could shy away from the country, this could also affect the inflow of tourists into the country and lost of revenue for the country. I still remember that I got stuck in the traffic for almost 5 over hours in the last Bersih demonstrations and I believe we don’t want to go through this again.
Our people should heed from Singapore the way the people abide by the whatever decisions made by the government and we should not let anyone to take advantage of the situation and act with sentiments and selfishly for their individual political gains. If we allow this to happen it will collapse and destroy everything that the country has built for the last 54 years.

Tindakan Hannah Yeoh tidak masuk akal?

Tindakan Hannah Yeoh adalah satu agenda untuk mendapat publisiti murahan, kerana mereka (DAP) perlu isu untuk dihebohkan. Ada banyak isu, hal perbadi seperti ini tidak harus digunakan untuk agenda tersembunyi politik dan ini bukanlah satu perjuangan yang murni dan ianya tidak akan membawa apa-apa faedah kepada rakyat.

Perkara ‘Bangsa Malaysia’ ini telah lama wujud dan pendaftaran bangsa telah diperuntukkan mengikut setaip kaum dinegara ini. Sebarang pertukaran tidak boleh dilakukan dengan segera dan sesuka hati, ada cara untuk dibuat dan jikaulau perkara ini tidak diperuntukkan dalam perlembangaan negara bagaimana bangsa anak beliau boleh didaftarkan sebagai “Anak Malaysia” ini sudah tidak masuk akal, adakah beliau bodah atau sengaja nak politikkan isu ini? Beliau hanya boleh daftar bangsa anak beliau sebagai ‘Cina’ atau ‘India’ mengikut peraturan yang sedia ada dalam perlembangaan negara.

Sebagai seorang ADUN Hannah harus faham Perlembangan Negara dan jangan sengaja nak memperbodohkan rakyat dan diri sendiri untuk rhetoric politik dan meminting diri sendiri.

Only PPP is out of the cabinet

Today the political scenario is very different. It is difficult to predict what the people’s aspiration at the grass root level, how are we going to keep them means keep-supporting BN and it’s leaders. It is also imperative that we look at issues affecting the people rationally rather than with emotions. We cannot say they are selfish, racists or demanding as the world is unpredictable in their requirements. Malaysia being a multi-racial country their leaders have an uphill task in fulfilling the people’s needs and the government should listen to the majority let it be the urban or rural. A survey should also be made and introduced for changes, which can bring benefits for the people.

If we look at PPP today we have move than 600,000 members and yet its president is left out of the cabinet despite being the most senior leader among the BN component party president’s. We think it is time our beloved Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak will seriously consider appointing Datuk Seri M Kayveas to the cabinet in the next reshuffle who is the only BN component leader left out of the cabinet.

Datuk Seri M Kayveas being a veteran lawyer, vocal ex-member of parliament and a deputy minister definite is an asset to the cabinet, who could contribute efficiently for the betterment of the BN and its future. With 600,000 membership base, PPP have more than 75% Indian’s in the party which makes up a composite of 450,000 Indian voters. Therefore, it is only fair PPP is represented in the cabinet, and given the chance to contribute towards the requirement of the people and it’s members, which is lacking currently. PPP has been left out of the cabinet all this while, but today it is different under the leadership of YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak, I believe those who are delivering will be elevated.

KUALA LUMPUR – Misteri kehilangan jam tangan Omega milik Ketua Umum Pakatan Rakyat (PR), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim seperti yang didakwa Datuk T sebelum ini terus menjadi tanda tanya kepada media.

Isterinya, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail berkata, jam tangan terbabit tidak hilang dan berada dalam simpanannya.

Apabila didesak seorang wartawan supaya menunjukkan jam tangan berkenaan kepada media, Wan Azizah seolah-olah tidak berpuas hati dan mempersoalkan semula kenapa perlu menunjukkan jam tangan itu.

“Kenapa mesti tunjuk kepada kamu? Jam tangan itu berada dalam simpa-nan saya,” katanya.

Sejurus selepas itu, Naib Presiden, Nurul Izzah Anwar (gambar) yang juga anak kepada Anwar pula mencelah dan mempersoalkan kenapa media bertanya soalan seolah-olah sedang disiasat.

“Adakah soalan ini serius? Kenapa kami seolah-olah sedang disoal siasat? Adakah kamu pendakwaraya sehingga boleh minta kami menunjukkan jam tangan itu?” katanya.

Penang State Government’s action to pull down the banners of YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak is uncalled for, why they have to resort to such action? After all the banners are featuring the image of the Prime Minister of the country. Penang can be an opposition state but they must understand that they are part of Malaysia, it is not proper to act as though they are NOT Malaysia, an such act by the MPPP is NOT BEING CIVIC. It is like teaching your kids to do bad things and go against the government will backfire. Such thing has happened in Selangor State who initially wanted to pull down 1Malaysia logo, and now Penang state pulling down our Prime Minister images is totally unacceptable. Very soon they will pull down even our Kings photo and put up Lim Kits Siang’s picture as their King in the state. To Penang people think carefully next time before casting your votes as we need to avoid such things from happening.

PPP Wilayah Persekutuan sedang turun padang dan akan berkerjasama dalam usaha kempen myDaftar untuk mendaftar rakyat Malaysia yang menghadapi masalah kad pengenalan, kewarganegaraan, surat beranak dan sebagainya. Dalam usaha ini setiap bahagian PPP di Wilayah Persekutuan akan mempastikan ahli PPP dan rakyat di bahagian-bahagian tersebut dikumpulkan untuk memastikan pertolongan ini disalurkan kepada mereka yang memerlukannya. Ahli Keluarga Atlet Mahu Arivalagan Dikekalkan Sebagai Jurulatih Elit

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 Jan (Bernama) -- Ibu bapa kepada beberapa atlet elit mahu Persekutuan Karate Amatur Malaysia (Makaf) mengekalkan P.Arivalagan sebagai jurulatih skuad elit negara.

Ibu bapa tersebut, yang tidak berpuas hati dengan tindakan Makaf tidak menyambung kontrak Arivalagan, hari Isnin berkumpul di pejabat Parti Progresif Penduduk (PPP) di sini untuk membantah tindakan badan itu.

"Kita tidak menentang keputusan mengambil jurulatih dari Iran -- Vahid Khajeh Hosseini -- tetapi Makaf perlu menjustifikasikan pelantikannya dengan membuktikan pencapaiannya berbanding dengan Arivalagan," kata seorang bapa kepada atlet elit itu.

Ketua Penerangan PPP Datuk A.Chandrakumanan berkata ibu bapa tersebut membantah langkah Makaf menawarkan Arivalagan untuk melatih skuad junior walaupun dia telah membuktikan hasil luar biasa termasuk dua anak buahnya P.Puvaneswaran dan Ku Jin Keat meraih dua pingat emas pada Sukan Asia di Guangzhou, China, November lepas.

Beliau juga menyifatkan tawaran untuk melatik Arivalagan sebagai jurulatih skuad junior sebagai tidak tepat kerana dia lebih layak membimbing skuad elit berbanding jurulatih dari Iran.

"Sewajarnya kita lebih mempercayai kepakaran anak tempatan berbanding jurulatih luar negara," kata Chandrakumanan.

Beliau berkata PPP telah bersetuju untuk mewakili akli keluarga atlet elit itu bagi mengemukakan surat bantahan dan menuntut penjelasan daripada Kementerian Belia dan Sukan, Majlis Sukan Negara dan Makaf.

Katanya beliau sendiri akan bertemu dengan Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek dalam masa terdekat ini untuk mencari penyelesaian kepada isu itu yang boleh menjejaskan persiapan negara menghadapi Sukan SEA 2011 di Indonesia.

Turut dihadiri pada majlis itu ialah bekas atlet negara dan wakil dari badan bukan kerajaan (NGO).

Pada 4 Jan lepas, Makaf mengumumkan untuk tidak menyambung kontrak Arivalagan yang tamat pada 31 Dis tahun lepas kerana ingin mengambil jurulatih Iran itu sebagai jurulatih baru skuad elit kebangsaan.

Majoriti atlet dalam skuad karate negara dilaporkan mengancam untuk meninggalkan skuad kebangsaan sekiranya Makaf kekal dengan keputusan itu.

Pihak MSN kemudiannya dilaporkan menawarkan jawatan jurulatih skuad junior kepada Arivalagan.

Selangor Government should put people first, not pakatan government!

Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is going overboard with regards to the appointment of Selangor State Secretary or is merely scared that their wrong doings will be exposed. In the last 53 years such incident have never cropped up but now such issues becoming common. This goes to show the arrogant attitude of a leader who is not interested about the people, and who do not understand the law and its constitutions, which clearly says that the appointment of a State Secretary is by PSC. Why he did not request to change the previous State Secretary, why suddenly now this request? Even in the previous appointment the Chief Secretary of the Government is the one who made the appointment. The current Selangor government should not make this an issue, dragging the Selangor Ruler, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and making remarks that the constitution needs to change, indirectly provoking the ruler and palace. The Selangor Government have also put the Ruler and the Palace on a bad lime light over this issue which is Pakatan Government mistake for fact Khalid is aware of it. This is uncalled for and dirty tactic used by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim in attempting to tarnish the Federal Government and PSC. He is also childish in making remarks and statement to the press that he and the executive council members would not attend any function commemorating Mohd Khusrin’s appointment. Dato’ Khusrin had been with Selangor for more then 20 over years, therefore I think the PSC knows who is best for Selangor.

The Education Ministry must review its decision and withdraw Interlok as these have greatly upset the Indian community. If we talking about 1Malaysia with the perception “people first” than with this spirit in mind this novel should be removed immediately. PPP strongly objects the caste system and the use of word like pariah, further who is Abdullah Hussein to write about the Indian community and why there is any Indian intellectual to verify and proof read the fact before such novel is published? The education ministry must be sensitive towards such information, which are being disseminated to the younger generation, which is not true. The novel misleads the people and the younger generation and provides incorrect representation of the Indian community. The Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should look at the macro picture overall and should not brushed aside any issues raised as this are matters concerning the rakyat and NOT any individual. PPP hope the novel would be withdrawn in the spirit of 1Malaysia, people first performance now and we should not give any opportunities or provides loopholes to the opposition to use against BN during the general election.

Is a human life only worth RM5,000?

Jaisingam Thangaraj 35, years from Ikan Emas Bandar Tun Razak died shortly after an angiogram was performed on him. His mother only known as Papathy said that the Doctor at HUKM did not give any medication before payment the RM5,000 was paid and a receipt was produced. According to his mother, it seems she literately begged the doctors at HUKM to provide medication as her son was suffering from pain, but the hospital or doctor refuse to provide any medication until payment is made. Jaisingam was admitted on Sunday 19, 2010 at about 4pm and an angiogram was only preformed after payment was made on Monday 20, 2010 at about 9.45am and he passed away at about 3pm. Jaisingam leaves behind 4 children between the age of 2 to 10 years old and his wife Jaya Letchumy is pregnant with their 5th child.

The Federal Territory PPP is very SAD for what have happened and will investigate the matter, as a human life should not be put to jeopardy merely due to payment, and here it is only RM5,000.00. I am surprise why the doctor in-charge at HUKM did not provide any medication if the case is serious? Who should be responsible and who is going to take care of his family now, as Jaisingam had been a sole breadwinner of the family. The Federal Territory PPP will get down to the roots of this case and would bring up the matter to the Health Minister, and whoever is responsible should be answerable. Doctors should save life’s, they should not demand for payment first before providing medication, this is NOT acceptable at all on a humanitarian ground. Further 19 Dec 2010 was a Sunday and how could the family raise RM5,000 immediately? Even through ATM you can only withdraw RM3,000 for a day quipped PPP Bandar Tun Razak Chairman Datuk A. Chandrakumanan, who is also PPP Federal Territory Chairman, who spoke to reporters after receiving the complaint this afternoon from Jaisingam’s mother.

The Pakatan government is cracking, now you see their true colors, greedy for power that’s all. Whatever they have said and done end of the day, the people does not matters to them, its who wants to be in power, pakatan is all full of rhetoric, that is the reason they are going through this political dilemma. Now just to win the Non-Malay’s confidents they are saying ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ should be abolished. Don’t they (Anwar Ibrahim and Wan Azizah) know that the special privileges of the Malays are protected in the Federal Constitutions? This goes to show that they are selfish and for their own political agenda they will go to any extend.

What is happening in PKR today is because of PKR’s shortsighted attitude, which only cares about Anwar Ibrahim wanting to become the prime minister of the country. He does not care about the people of Malaysia but mere revenge that he wanted to take and wants to be the prime minister of the country at whatever cost. Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah is just a stooge and Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim controls everything whatever is taking place in PKR, it is a proven fact we saw this in their party election now which is not transparent and the members are not happy about it. PKR members have lost faith in Anwar Ibrahim and he is not fit even be an advisor of the party.

The party claims to be a People Justice Party, where can there be justice if they can’t even give justice for their own members, this is what the people should realize, and we could see all this within a period of less than 3 years after they came into powers. What will happen if they had been in power for 53 years like BN, I think Tun Mahathir removed Anwar from the cabinet in 1998 for this reason knowing what is Anwar up to. Very true look at PKR Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim is the advisor, his wife is the President, his daughter is one of the Vice President, this never happened in BN. What do you call this cronyism? PKR was formed just for Anwar Ibrahim, he gained sympathy through the black-eye incident and took advantage out of it and the people voted for PKR out of sympathy.

The people who have voted them should also see the true colours and the quality of their chosen leaders in parliament and be very prudent when casting their votes in the next general election. PKR and DAP is only family affairs, in DAP it is Lim, Lim and daughter in-law. In PKR it is father, mother and daughter thats it, who else is there, no creditable leader?

A day with the people

We had a meeting with voters in the Ikan Emas, Bandar Tun Razak recently. The main purpose of this meeting was held to brief the residents, especially the Indian community in this area about a few things such as the Progressive Cooperative Malaysia, Insurance Scheme, Scheme of Prihatin Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan and to register new voters.

I was down here, together with the Ikan Emas RT Chairman, Mr. Abdullah Iamzah and PPP leader of FT and Bandar Tun Razak. Ikan Emas have a total area of 2.596 over voters with a fraction of the Malay 41.26%, China 46.49%, India 11.71% and others 0.54%. BN lost this area in the 2008 general election with a majority of 58 votes and, if we work hard here we could wrest back this area with larger majority as the people's confidence towards BN and in the leadership YAB Dato 'Sri Najib Tun Razak is returning. We also found that most people in this area have not registered as voters and we took this opportunity to register new voters. PPP Ikan Emas have a total of 179 members and 152 members are voters here.

The briefing was held to provide further information about PPP's Insurance Scheme which was launched by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato 'Sri Najib Tun Razak during the PPP General Assembly at the PWTC 2010. This insurance scheme was launched specifically for PPP members where the parents and three their children will receive a claim of RM50, 000 in the event of an accident or the occurrence of any disaster for a fee of RM50 for a family. (This insurance policy is created on a special request which is known as family policy, which covers 5 person in family i.e. father, mother and three children with an annual payment of RM50.00 for a RM50, 000 coverage)

Secondly, we also find that most people in this area are yet to register as a member of the Prihatin Yayasan WP. This is good scheme and it pays RM2,500 to the next of kin in the event the member of this scheme passed away. The claims can be made in 24 hours to the beneficiary. This money could be used for funeral expenses as many people could not even afford to pay for funeral expense, and many people are not aware of the scheme which is made available by the Barisan Nasional Government for the poor.

I am quite satisfied with the response received from the residents of this area and also with the cooperation given by the RT to hold a briefings and dialogue sessions here. We can foster and strengthen relationships with one another at the same time brings the trust of the people towards BN. For PPP this is not a new thing, we are often on the ground in Bandar Tun Razak to deal with people. We will bring this information to the people in other areas too so that everyone can benefit out of this program’s and scheme under Barisan Nasional

Lack of patriotism is illogical statement!

Indian and Chinese does not lack patriotism but simply it is difficult for them to reach the top position could be one of the reason, this is a basic fact that the Defense Minister should tackle. Dato’ Seri Zahid’s reasoning is not logical at all quoting that the “Chinese and Indian lack of patriotism” being a defense minister such a statement should not have come out from him in the spirit of Barisan Nasional.

Why I said this, if you take the police forces, Navy and the Army there is a minimum entry requirement, this could be one of the reason why many non-Malays do not qualify to fit into this positions. Even to get into the voluntary police forces is difficult for one, so what does the government expect them to do. We have cases where people come to our weekly services centre requesting for supporting letters to get recruited into the forces.

I personally feel that the government should strongly evaluate the entry requirement and have an open policy in the intake and give opportunity to anyone to hold higher position if one is capable and deserves it regardless of sex and race, in line with the ‘1 Malaysia’ concept.

Visit to PPR Beringin - Lift Problem

After receiving a complaint from resident’s residing in PPR Bringin about a lift problem we PPP made a visit to the area yesterday. It was shocking to note that out of three (3) lift at Block A, only one (1) lift is in a operational condition. One of the resident know only as Mohd Rahman who is living on 13 floor, said that even this one lift breaksdown sometime and imagine we have to walk thirteen story, what about people living on 17 floor and how about the old folks and the handicapped, he said with frustration.

According to one resident Mr. Miyalagan said that one of the lift has not been working for the past 9 months and one more has not been working for the last five months and during peak hours we get stuck here, and people rush and push to get into the lift. He also said that the same problem has existed in Block B, C and D. One more resident only known as Puan Loh said that even after complaint “Pejabat Kecil” have not taken any action on the repair, she says that she has been waiting for more than a year now for a house pipe on the 13 floor to be repaired, but till today DBKL have not given a concrete repair when the repairs will be done.

I feels that DBKL should give priority in resolving such problems immediately, and if the nominated contractors do not carry out the repairs works swiftly they must be replaced by DBKL as they are paid to do the maintenances. These poor people should not suffer due to some unscrupulous contractors, it was horrifying to watch how people has been waiting for the one lift which is in operational, without light. I spoke to Puan Suriyanti, City Hall Officer in-charge for this area, who told me that 8 lifts in this area has been shutdown due to repairs works and vandalisms. Some of the resident even urinate inside the lift, which causes to erode, and breakdowns, and some even bring their motorbike inside the lift, which is not proper, she further stresses. However, she gives an assurance that the repairs works will start today and should be completed in a week’s time.

PPP hopes the residences living in this type of environment when we are sharing the same lift with others, sharing your wall, ceiling, floor and walk away with others should take care of this place dearly. This is our property, we should keep it clean and we should protect it from being destroyed by some irresponsible people. PPP also hopes that the “Pejabat Kecil” will react to this type of complaints immediately and hope this will be adopted into their KPI’s, and not a single compliant taken lightly.

Suspend racists principles first!

Revamp the powers of the education minister and provide full authority to the minister to hire and fire. If the current policies does not allow the cabinet minister’s to sack or suspend civil servants who go against the ethic’s of teaching who make racists and seditions statements or remarks, than some serious thought should be given. It looks like the Public Service Department also has not taken any action against the racists principles since they made a racists statement couple of months ago in Johor and in Kedag.

Recently our Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said to the media that there is no law in the administration regulations and in the Constitution providing for ministers to sack or suspend any permanent civil servant. If this is the case than the law has to be changed to give more authority to the ministers to take immediate action. Schools are a place where racial integration among various races begins, and this is not a place for any racist’s person who could poison the mind of any individual. The Chief Secretary to the Government should have at least suspended this teacher by now who have made a slur remarks against its students.
Such a low mentality person is like a virus they could spread and bring detestation among the various races living together. This type of behaviours should not be allowed to work in a place where unity is preached and taught. Such a person could destroy whatever Barisan Nasional government is building under the leadership of our Prime Minster YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.

The Federal Territory PPP wants the ministry to take a severe action against this racist person immediately by expelling her to show others not to be extremists and be sensitive as we are living in a multiracial society.

The government should give serious attention to this case and should not allow anyone to escape from the punishment especially matters involving racial issues, which is highly sensitive and let it be a lesson to others so that such incident does not repeats again. I do agree that any disciplinary action should be based on fairness and justice.

PPP Wilayah Persekutuan welcome the announcement made by the Deputy Prime Minister YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, that the government would allocate lands for Chinese and Tamil schools in the areas according to the majority of the populations. I must say this is a good move by the BN government as education is an important element and it is imperative that no one is deprived of his /her opportunities to study. PPP at the same time hope the government would also increase the current funding for partially funded Tamil schools and consider giving lands for schools which are located in temporary land and facing problems of being vacated and in dilemma about their future.

We have such cases in the Federal Territory and one of the Tamil schools facing a similar risk is the SRJK (T) Convent St. Joseph, Sentul. Despite existing for 96 years in the City Center, it is sad to note that the schools do not have its own land. This school has been occupying St. Joseph Church land all this years and was asked to move out recently by the church authority. The school does not have a place to relocate at the moment and needs help urgently. We have identified few lands located nearby the current school location and have written to the Ministry of Education hoping the government would consider this request.

The current wooden building with raised platform from the ground level was built in 1924 and, renovated in the 40’s is in a deplorable state. The building is also infected with white ants’, which needs repairs and uplifting urgently. The schools have 170 students and it is also one of the only girls Tamil school in the Federal Territory. Recently, the PIBG Chairman Madam Elizabeth Fatimah has called us requesting for help from PPP. PPP Batu have agreed to do some cleaning (gotong-royong) this week where we will be painting the building and will also be carrying out white ant’s inspection. I hope the school will receive some funding from the government to overcome the current problems faced.

PPP bring cheers to 40 orphanage children

Puteri dan Wanita PPP Setiawangsa membawa kemeriahan kepada 40 anak yatim, dengan duit raya dan dilayan dengan persembahan silap mata. Encik Simon Suresh selaku Ketua Bahagian Setiawangsa PPP telah mengadakan program buka Puasa dengan 40 anak-anak dari Persatuan Jagaan Nur Insan di Jalan Air Panas, Kuala Lumpur. Timbalan Ketua UMNO Bahagian YBhg. Dato’ Abdul Halim Bin Abdul Samad yang juga Pengerusi KUB berkata selepas merasmikan program tersebut bahawa banyak orang yang memerlukan membantu dan apa yang PPP lakukan hari ini pergi menunjukkan bahawa konsep 1Malaysia Perdana Menteri akan tercapai dengan cepat sekiranya setiap orang memiliki hati yang mulia untuk bekerja dengan semua bangsa bekerja bersama tanpa bangsa, keyakinan dan hambatan budaya. Beliau mengucapkan terima kasih kepada PPP yang telah berjaya mengadakan program buka Puasa ini bagi mereka yang benar-benar memerlukan bantuan dan beliau akan mengambil kira permintaan daripada Persatuan Jagaan Nur Insan untuk mendapat bantuan bagi masa depan. PPP Titiwangsa juga telah mengadakan program buka Puasa di PWTC bersama-sama dengan seramai 300 wargamas, ibu tunggal dan anak-anak yatim. PPP merasa bahawa banyak orang di luar sana memerlukan bantuan dan kami boleh sekurang-kurangnya mengadakan aktiviti seperti ini untuk membantu orang yang memerlukan bantuan tersebut semasa perayaan seperti ini.

Saya juga berharap syarikat-syarikat korporat yang berjaya akan mara ke depan untuk memberikan sedikit sumbangan apa yang mereka mampu terhadap kegiatan seperti ini di mana ia akan digunakan untuk tujuan mulia. Launching of Merdeka Flag handout

PPP Lembah Pantai yesterday handed 1000 flags to motorist passing through Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Bricikfields at 4pm in conjunction with Merdeka Celebration. This program was officiated by Federal Territory and Wellbeing Minister YB Dato’ Raja Nong Chik. Shop owners and motorist was surprise and glad to see Dato’ Raja Nong Chik himself was handing out the flags and some of the shop owners at Brickfields took the opporunity to garland the minister. Dato’ Raja Nong Chik said it was good program and such programs should be continued and he thanked PPP Lembah Pantai Chairman Mr. M. Moorthi for organizing the Merdeka Flags handout.

This is an annual program for the Federal Territory PPP and few more such programs will be carried out in other division before 31 August 2010. The younger generation should know how independence's was achieved and how hard our pass leaders fought for it and history should not be forgotten. Therefore unity among various races living in this country is important to further enhance and continue to live in a peace and harmonies manner in these multiracial society. It is also important to always keep remaining the younger generation on this so that the vision 1Malaysia concept can be realized, and this year independence's team is “Menjana Tranformasi”. We should not keep on questioning about one’s rights and touch on sensitive issues which could damage the relationship among the various races in this country. We all should walk tall as Malaysian and always remember about the future and not be selfish for a short term gain, so that Malaysian can live for another 100 or 200 years or more together as 1Malaysia.

PPP Setiawangsa today donated RM1,000 to PIGB of SMK Air Panas. The money will be used for 44 students who were not able to pay their school fees and exam fees. The cheque handing over ceremony was held at the schools resource centre, which was officiated by me. We handed over the cheque to Puan Faridah the school principal that was witnessed by her assistances and other teachers. PPP hope the government would consider giving free education for the poor and unprivileged children, as education is very important and everyone should be given the opportunity to study. PPP Setiawangsa Division Chairman Mr. Simon Sureh and his committee members attended this ceremony. The school principal thanked PPP in the efforts on coming forward to help and giving a helping hand for these poor children.

Racist school principal should be expelled immedately!

How could such a thing happen in a school assembly, for a school principal to utter such a racist remarks is not acceptable and she must be sacked immediately.

The statement made by school principal Siti Inshah from SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra is sedition and the Ministry of Education must reprimand her with severe action to show others that the government is serious in safeguarding the interest of all the races in the country and uniting all Malaysian under the 1Malaysia concept.

It is totally insane for the school principal to behave like a moron, how could she lead as a principal of a school, when she “as the highest officer in the school” could utter such a offensive, insensitive and racist remarks against the Chinese and the Indians student during their National Day Celebrations.

Such a low mentality person is like a virus they could spread and bring detestation among the various races living together. This type of behaviours should not be allowed to work in a place where unity is preached and taught. Such a person could destroy whatever Barisan Nasional government is building under the leadership of our Prime Minster YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.

PPP wants the ministry to take a severe action against this racist person immediately by expelling her to show others not to be extremists and be sensitive as we are living in a multiracial society.

PPP sasar 100,000 pengundi baru sebelum pilihanraya umum yang ketigabelas kata Datuk A. Chandrakumanan, Ketua Penerangan PPP Nasional yang juga Pengerusi PPP Wilayah Persekutuan baru-baru ini kepada pemberita selepas mengadakan “Program Pendaftar Pengundi Baru” di kawasan perniagaan Sri Johor 4C berdekatan dengan LRT Sri Johor, Bandar Tun Razak. Beliau juga berkata pada hari yang sama program pendaftaran pengundi baru ini juga telah diadakan di PPR Pudu Ulu sempena program Karnival 1Malaysia anjuran PPP Bahagian Cheras.

Datuk A. Chandrakumanan juga berkata program ini akan diadakan di setiap negeri oleh PPP dan berharap orang ramai yang belum daftar sebagai pengundi mengambil kesempatan untuk mendaftar diri mereka sebagai pengundi. Dengan cepat Sesiapa yang telah berusia 21 tahun keatas berhak untuk mengundi dan kita tidak harus mengabaikan tanggungjawab kita sebagai seorang rakyat Malaysia.

Program pendaftaran ini kekal diadakan pada setiap hari Sabtu dan Ahad untuk permulaan di kompleks-kompleks dan kawasan perumahan di Wilayah Persekutuan. Pada 14 Ogos 2010 program pendaftar pengundi baru akan diadakan di depan Pasarraya Hero, Bandar Pramaisuri, Bandar Tun Razak dari pukul 9pagi – 12tenggahhari. Saya menyeru kepada orang ramai yang tinggal disekitaran kawasan ini yang belum lagi mendaftar datanglah dan berdaftar sebagai pengundi sebelum pilihanraya yang ketigabelas.

Pada masa yang sama kami juga berharap Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) juga akan turut sama dalam program-program seperti ini supaya ianya dapat memudahkan proses pertukaran alamat di Kad Pengenalan supaya pengundi dapat mengundi dilokaliti mengikut tempat tinggal mereka.

PPP Cheras Division organized a "Karnival 1Malaysia" together with Resident Association of PPR Pudu Ulu which saw more than 1000 resident taking part in the activities and programs arranged by the organizers. PPP President Datuk M Kayveas officiated the program and said that such programs could enhance the unity among various races living together in places like this. He must be an animal to rape a 10 years old child while driving her from school. A lesson must be taught to this type of culprits who gets away with whipping and jail sentences in many cases. I do agree with the demands urged by the community that capital punishment by way of hanging for such culprits be made mandatory. We have been hearing of crimes against children is in the increase daily and it is time that such behaviors cannot be tolerate anymore and justice is prevailed.

The law has to be strict for such offences that people will know what they will get, now they know that for rapist the most is whipping and jail sentences, they are not afraid of the law. Therefore, the government should consider imposing a severe sentence that the offenders cannot get away lightly after raping innocent children.

Tindakan Ahli Parlimen Petaling Jaya Utara, Tony Pua yang mengeluarkan kenyataan semata-mata untuk mengecam populariti di kalangan kaum bukan bumiputera tidak dapat diterima sama sekali.

Tony Pua tidak seharusnya menyentuh hak istimewa bumiputera di negara ini yang terlindung dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan dan ini seolah-olah mengacum isu perkauman. Apakah rasional Tony Pua meminta supaya kerajaan Negeri Selangor menghapuskan dasar pemberian diskaun bumiputera dalam pemilikan hartanah komersial dan mewah di Selangor? Mengapakah beliau harus menyentuh hak istimewa kaum melayu, sedangkan beliau boleh bercadang supaya diskaun seperti ini juga diberikan kepada semua rakyat Malaysia yang berpendapatan kurang dari RM3000, seperti yang telah dicadangkan oleh Presiden PPP, Datuk M Kayveas semasa AGM PPP, kata Ketua Penerangan PPP Datuk A. Chandrakumanan.

DAP harus sensitif terhadap hak keistimewaan bumiputera seperti yang ternyata dalam Perlembangaan Persekutuan, dan Menteri Besar Negeri Selangor Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim pula menyokong cadangan tersebut hanya semata-mata kerana agenda politik beliau. Adakah Khalid Ibrahim rela untuk mengorbankan hak istimewanya sebagai seorang Bumiputera demi untuk kawan pembangkangnya? Kenyataan Tony Pua yang akan menjadikan jutaan bumiputera sebagai mangsa demi untuk agenda politiknya harus dibantah. Kaum Melayu di Selangor kini sudah mengetahui sifatnya dan pastinya bumiputera akan kehilangan hak istimewa mereka jika pihak pembangkang terus memerintah Negeri Selangor.

Perkara ini telah dibincang di mana hak istimewa kaum bumiputera terlindung dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan. Oleh itu, kita tidak perlu mempertikaikan lagi isu ini. Tindakan Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim seolah-olah menjual negara sendiri dianggap sebagai pengkhianat kepada kaum Bumiputera di Selangor memang tidak dapat diampunkan. Khalid seharusnya mencari jalan penyelesaian untuk mengekang kumpulan yang menyalahgunakan hak istimewa yang diperuntukan kepada kaum bumiputera dan seterusnya membantah cadangan DAP dan bukannya menjadi seorang hipokrit.

Apakah muslihat sebenar DAP yang menbangkitkan isu hak istemewa kaum bumiputera yang terlindung dalam perlembangaan persekutuan?

Politician and elected representatives should be allowed to endorse recommendation for the rakyats who needs it because that is the reason they are there. If they are not even allowed to endorse recommendation how are the rakyats going to overcome problems that they are facing everyday concerning many issues? Currently, we write to them to get recommendation and endorsement for scholarship and many other issues, which are affecting the rakyats, everyday, if this is not allowed to do, than what will be their purpose as an elected representatives for the people or constituency.

Most of the complaints received are concerning due to the weakness and delays either on certain application or requirement therefore it is no harm to ask or give recommendation to quicken the process. This is a job of politician, there s no abuse of power of interferences in the civil servants work, as we are not asking favours for ourselves but for the rakyats who deserve it. The civil servants should only be afraid if there is inefficiency in the delivery system where they are not carrying out their work or duties diligently. This is when people come to us for recommendation letters, so what is wrong in giving these letters?

There are already lots of problems and delays currently in many departments and the people are already complaining that elected reps are not delivering it should not be made worse. As the Prime Minister have said under the 1Malaysia concept “Rakyat didahulukan dan pencapaian di utamakan” this must be observed always to gain the people’s confidents towards BN.

2nd round table meeting on UPSR and PMR

I attended the round table meeting today in PICC on behalf of PPP and I was grateful that this opportunity was given. The second round-table discussion was chaired by Education Director-General Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom, and participated by 75 people including politicians, educational figures, student leaders, representatives of non-governmental organisations, representatives from the office of the deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Education Ministry senior officers, journalists and representatives from the book industry.

I welcome the move by Ministry of Education to increase and improve the present evaluation of the national education system. (Penambahbaik Sistem Pentaksiran Pendidikan Kebangsaan). The ministry presented a roadmap “Penambahbaik Sistem Pentaksiran Pendidikan Kebangsaan” to the audience and definitely it contains good element, which can be incorporated to the present system. I am in the opinion that maintaining both these examination is important because an evaluation base is required to evaluate the students on their performances end of the day. Their understanding on the knowledge of the subjects taught needs to be tested and what will be the base if no exams. For example for primary level from standard one to standard six the performances of a student is measured by UPSR examination. Therefore, if this examination is scraped what will it be replaced with?

Initial suggestion was to abolish both UPSR and PMR examination, but now after the first round table meeting the ministry of education has decided to increase and improve the present national education evaluation system in the country. I hope the roadmap presented by the ministry of education could be implemented by stages while retaining UPSR and PMR. It is important to have a standard-based assessment on the students and without these examinations we cannot evaluate their performances to ensure that the quality of education in the country is maintained.

I believe that “Penambahbaik Sistem Pentaksiran Pendidikan Kebangsaan” is good however, carrying out a pilot project first before its implementation nationwide. The ministry also needs to find out the weakness in the current system and strategies the changes required and improvise the present system. This has to be inline with the Government Transformation Programme where emphasis is given to enhance the present education system and set a benchmark nationwide for schools and teachers to practice and follow.

Today Setiawangsa Member of Parliament, YB Dato' Sri Zulhasnan officiated "Program Kehidupan Murni Komuniti Bestari" at PPR Sri Semarak, Air Panas, Setapak. Various activities was lined up for families, individual and children who took part. There are five block of PPR flats here with multi-racial resident's living here. Most of them has been relocated from Kg. Semarak, in his officiating speech Dato' Sri Zulhasnan asid that it is good to have such program which will strengthen the unity among the various races living together. He also said that cultivating sports activities among children at their early age is important and they should be exposed to the various sports to build their talents.

We PPP took the opportunity donate a tent to Rukun Tetangga Association and Table and Chair's to Surau Al Hijrah

After that later, Dato' Sri Zulhasnan flag off the "tug-war" between the resident's and the Chief's of the resident association.

PPP welcomes amendments to BN constitution

It is good to bring changes in BN and the first step forward is making changes to the constitution which is the right move. PPP hopes this would strengthen BN and bring unity among the component parties. PPP would like to suggest that the amendment should also give greater roles for the component parties and its leaders. The changes should be attractive to woo the younger generation to join BN, there must be something interesting for them to come, contribute and stay on, this “wow” factor must be there. Transformation is also required in BN logo too, its colour needs to be brighter and look dynamic to give the pleasing look to attract the younger generation.

Our beloved Prime Minister has said “BN Mampu Berubah”. The attitude among some leaders too have to change along with the constitution amendments, which is an important factor for BN and its coalition. The perception of the people towards BN has to change, lots of policy has been introduced by the Prime Minister and he has been working very hard to gain the support and confident of the people. This dream can only be realized and achieved if we stay united, respect one another regardless of race, culture and it should not matter how big or how small one but all are 1Malaysian’s.

Party President YBhg. Datuk M Kayveas have instructed its state chairman’s in the last supreme council meeting to go down to the grass roots to recruit members nationwide specially younger members to join the putera and puteri biro which is under the main Youth and Wanita movements of the party. PPP is also registering new voters nationwide and hope SPR will appoint PPP members as “Penolong Pendaftar” as currently the appointments are frozen by SPR. Definitely PPP’s new voter registration will show zero because we do not have any “Penolong Pendaftar” to do so, we have been carrying out voters registration directly through SPR. SPR’s officers will come whenever we call them to carryout new voters registration at all our programs. PPP hope SPR will speedup this appointment process ASAP so that we could do our work effectively. This is inline with BN President YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak’s request to woo young voters to join BN coalition from the beginning. The youngster’s should understand the struggle BN have gone through and going through for the betterment of the country and its people. PPP feel that by recruiting members from early age would be advantages for BN and they would not fall into the oppositions trap and constant lies about the government. As mentioned by the PPP President, we will look for our niche, and have started rebuilding the party’s strength at all level.

PSD awards for 9A+ and above....

I applaud the move to award PSD scholarships for students who score 9A+’s or more regardless of race is very appropriate. This is important as the best brains should not be compromised and they should stay in the country. This move would provide an opportunity for the deserving students to complete their tertiary education.

The announcement made by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak shows he cares for the people and serious in achieving its 1Malaysia concept which is critical and important key element of the National Economic Model (NEM). Various groups and political parties has been calling for these awards on PSD scholarship, with this announcement it goes to show that our Prime Minister have taken all calls into consideration before making this crucial decision. Under the Government Transformation Programme, which is towards 1Malaysia, People First, Performance Now, education is in the GTP a roadmap that is to create a quality and affordable education for all Malaysian.

There should not be any compromise when it comes to education, that is the reason under the NEM, BN government as given emphasis to place education in the NKRA that will further strengthen in developing quality education.

UPSR & PMR should be retained

The education ministry should reconsider the decision wanting to abolish both UPSR and PMR examinations. The ministry should retained both the examination as for UPSR after six years of studies every student’s need to have a base of evaluation and assessment of the syllabus they have studied. The only examination here is UPSR, unless they have something inline or replacement for UPSR than it is okay. But without a proper exam base students at this level would not excel and it is important to maintain it.

As for PMR it is an important examination’s which determines the students path of option whether they are going into sciences or arts medium. I consider form 1 to form 3 as a foundation level which is important for every students’. Those days the LCE was very important examination’s and one needs to pass LCE to move forward to form 4, but today students still goes to form 4 even if they do not get good results in their PMR therefore what will be the rational in abolishing PMR. External exam is needed to evaluate students’ performances and could be added with assignments that could be a way to assess academic performances among students.

Another important factor the ministry of education should consider is that by 2015, Malaysia will be an International Education Hub, therefore by abolishing important examinations would not be practicable. International students will look for education hub which are excellent for education and they would want the best places to go for their education, example i.e. Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge. When we hear about this places we know their education system and standard’s are very high and it is every students dream to go to such places for education. Under the Government Transformation Programme, which is towards 1Malaysia, People First, Performance Now, education is in the GTP a roadmap that is to create a quality and affordable education for all Malaysian.

Recently, YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister said, “We must raise our standards to be internationally comparable while narrowing the gap between the educated and less-educated. The importance of the education system cannot be overemphasized given the competitiveness of our nation and in building 1Malaysia”

Therefore, it is important the education ministry evaluates every option and reconsiders their decision before making any conclusions just based on studies or reason given by some to set a benchmark. We should not compromise our children’s future and their education, under the GTP that is aimed at improving education and to build a globally competitive, knowledgeable and performance-based workforce can only be feasible if quality education is maintained.

The ministry of education should try to find an alternate solution to have a student assessment to evaluate their performances. It should not be ONLY exam oriented always but have more course work and practical lesson to eliminate stereotype studies.
I hope we would be called for the roundtable discussion on this matter.

The government should take a firm action against Suara Keadilan if they defy its order. It is very clear when the permit is not renewed than they do not have a permit for publication. The government has got the right to decide on the licensing and publications if one goes above the board and touches on the sensitive issues which could threatens national security. No one is above the law just because they are opposition they cannot be reporting and writing issues, which are not true for the purposes of undermining the government always. The publication law is very clear that Suara Keadilan cannot be printed according to Section 5(1) of the PPPA, therefore Batu MP Tian Chua should not pretend that this is not the fact.

They have been issued with three show-cause letters to explain their fault by the home ministry, but they have not responded to this show-cause letter, which they had to do so if Suara Keadilan wants their publication license renewed. Definitely being an opposition paper Suara Keadilan is not going to write good about the government but they cannot be writing something, which is not true, and they are responsible for the mess they have created. Taking this matter to parliament filling an emergency motion in the Dewan Rakyat to debate these issues is waste of the Rakyat’s time, which Azmin should be aware of.

The public will accept issues which are true but not lies, press freedom does not give the right to anyone to violates the laws and write anything which is injustice and inaccurate about the government. Therefore, being an opposition it does not mean that they can write and talk about anything and get away with it.

Pakatan is craking....

The Pakatan government is cracking, now you see their true colours, greedy for power that’s all. Whatever they have said and done end of the day the people does not matters to them, its who wants to be in power, pakatan is all full of rhetoric, that is the reason they are going through this political dilemma in Selangor.

The Padang Serai MP Gobalakrishnan should concentrate in building what is required for the people in his constituency rather than trying to be too smart. He should his valuable time in Parliament to fight for what is needed for the people, look into the implementation plans in the RMK10, NEM and to see that the policies are carried out without flouts, that is why the people have voted them. He should not be wasting his time digging how and who paid for Datin Sri Rosmah’s trip to New York. This is not important for the people nor is this going to benefit anyone. The Prime Minister does NOT owes him an answer or any explanation, being the Prime Minister wife, it is nothing wrong for Datin Sri Rosmah to accompany him in the trip to New York and it is the government’s rights to pay for the trip. Why does he wants to how much is the cost, he should use his common senses to calculate the cost, and try to embarrass the top leader of the country.

There is more important thing than this to do and should be addressed, and the Prime Minister should not be answering such questions or responding to such stooge’s, coz the oppositions only knows to harp on such petty matters which is not and issue. The opposition is only good at degrading the Barisan Nasional leaders, Gobalakrishnan should go and see what is happening in Selangor and why pakatan is cracking. The people who have voted them should also see the colours and the quality of their chosen leaders in parliament and be very prudent when casting their votes in the next general election as quality time should be wasted arguing petty issues.

PPP Cawangan Sri Johor bersama PPP Cawangan Taman Tenaga telah menganjurkan ‘Sambutan Hari Bapa’ pada 26 Jun 2010 di padang bola sepak Sri Johor 4C, Bandar Tun Razak pada hari sabtu yang lalu. Lebih daripada 400 penduduk dari kawasan ini bersama-sama dengan ahli PPP telah menghadiri program ini di mana pelbagai aktiviti telah diadakan sempena sambuatan Hari Bapa. Pakaian Kebudayaan peserta dari kategori kanak-kanak, tarian kebudayaan dan nyanian telah diadakan sempena sambutan ini. PPP Sri Johor juga telah memberi sumbangan sebanyak 100 hamper kepada bapa-bapa dari kawasan ini dan sambutan ditamatkan dengan acara pemotongan kek.

Program ini diadakan di Sri Johor 4C oleh PPP semata-mata untuk mengwujudkan dan juga untuk memperkenalkan kebudayaan berbilang kuam serta untuk mengeratkan lagi perpaduan dikalangan pelbagai penduduk dikawasan ini. We should champion rights of all races, Muhyiddin tells BN parties

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has advised Barisan Nasional component party leaders to champion the rights and interests of all the people instead of any one particular race. He said the old approach of promoting the interests of any one particular race was outdated and no longer supported by the people. Muhyiddin, who is Umno deputy president and Barisan deputy chairman, said this political transformation within their parties was most necessary in line with the current needs.

"We can no longer use the approach of 10 or 20 years ago. Times have changed and the people's expectations have changed, and these demand a new approach," he said when opening the Federal Territory PPP convention, here, Sunday.

"We have to proof to the people that the Barisan approach has changed. The people want a new approach. They want every component party to champion all the races in the country," he said. Muhyiddin said this political transformation was significant to buttress the government transformation agenda, such as the New Economic Model and the Government Transformation Programme aimed at raising the socio-economic standard of the people and spurring the country onwards to becoming a high-income economy. He also spoke of unity within the coalition, saying it was necessary not only to face the next general election but also, more importantly, to enable the Government ensure the people's well-being.

"This is why the political transformation must be in tandem with the government transformation. Otherwise, all efforts by government leaders may not achieve their targets," he said. As such, he said, all levels of Barisan leaders should make an effort to understand the government transformation agenda, especially the contents of the 10th Malaysia Plan, which was tabled in parliament on Thursday.

Extend maternity leave to 90 days?

90 days maternity leave would be an ideal leave period for civil servants and the government over a period of time should implement this. Mothers going on such medical leave would requires a good length of rest after delivery and if the government could extend its 60 days to 90 days would provided a better recovering time. The staffs returning from maternity leave will be more efficient too as they would have had a good rest.

We had a great time yesterday (18 May 2010) at PPR Seri Semarak. Together with the Resident Association Chairman, Tadika Kemas Chairman, Rukun Tertangga Chairman, Surau Chairman, NASSCOM Chairman and with members of the PPP we went around PPR Seri Semarak to see what we could do for this housing area. The Resident Association and others who were present was happy that PPP came forward to share some ideas and what PPP could do over here. Simon Suresh PPP Setiawangsa Division Chairman who arranged this meeting said that they have also identified a funeral parlor for the Indian's and the location was readily available. On behalf of the resident association PPP would apply to City Hall to get approval to build this funeral parlor that is already in the City Hall development plan for PPR's in the Federal Territory. We had a good meeting with this entire group discussing their requirements. The list is quite extensive but I feel it is reasonable because some of these items had been outstanding for quite sometime. The Community Hall which, supposed to be built a year ago has not started yet.

In February the Member of Parliament for Setiawangsa Dato' Sri Zulhasnan mentioned that he would proposed to City Hall to erect a stage, and we PPP would pursue on this immediately. One of the NGO NASSCOM has got a tuitions centre but they do not have a proper place to conduct their classes same goes to Tadika Kemas, they have requested for partitions to be sponsored which they could use during classes. PPP have also agreed to help in getting the table and chairs for Surau and would look for sponsors to come forward as we too are financially tight. However, I have agreed to sponsor a tent 20 x 20 for the Rukun Tertangga and the committee was quite excited about this. The resident association feels that we should meet very often to resolve outstanding issues.

Is peninsular virus spreading to Sabah & Sarawak?

We have spoken about this before, that the 2008 general election sentiment from Peninsular might shift to Sabah & Sarawak in the next general election. However, we could see the outcome in the Sibu by-election. This is something that the BN government should focus as the issues debated could have significant impact to the voters. Sadly voter’s turnout too is not very good. Sibu had been BN’s strong hold and was never lost in the last 5 general election, and losing the seat to DAP by a slim majority of 398 vote should be given serious though by the BN led government.

Issues which are very sensitive and which gives negative impact such as the GERTAK, Religious should be thrown out. There are people / politician always talking about racial issues, issue about May 13 and etc. This are history no point talking about all this anymore which does not benefit anyone. They should rather talk about the future what we can do for the people and the country.
BN’s success not only depend on the individual but more importantly what the government could offer in terms of economy influx, transparency in many areas which voters feel is lacking, freedom of speech and a efficient an a effective government end of the day is what people are looking wants. Voters should give our Prime Minister chances to implement the policies inline with his 1Malaysia concept.

No one should question anyone’s rights in what he can do or cannot do as everyone has the right to speak up their mind. As the Prime Minister have said “BN is able to change”, therefore if BN need to change for the betterment of the people than it should do so NOW else the people will CHANGE the BN government.

Keep your nose out of PPP

Murugiah should mind his own business as he is NOT a party member and he has no locals to talk about PPP on its issues and got no rights to comment on the party’s decisions. He is just trying to stir and create a problem within Youth and Wanita wing and indirectly aggravating them to go against its leadership. He is only good with this types of tactics, he tried many ways and now he is trying to turn PPP’s youth and wanita wing against its President. He should understand that PPP is able and capable of making its own decision and we do not requires people from outside to tell us what we should do.

It is not that PPP has many position and not giving the younger generation a chance to perform, and it is also childish of Murugiah to say only the youngsters can perform better. It is also tantamount to discrediting the seniors who are holding government positions if he say’s that ONLY youngsters can perform. He is insane to say that PPP should dissolve the party’s Youth and Puteri Wings just because PPP President Datuk Mayveas have said that a senior person in the party would be suggested for the post. He should keep out of PPP and refrain from making any statement about PPP. This is just another cheap publicity stunt by Murugiah, as he got nothing else to talk about or do. Therefore my advise to Murugiah is keep his nose out of PPP which is not his affair.

Born in Malaysian but still waiting for citizenship

Last year the Home Ministry has made a decision to issue citizenship to Malaysian who are born in Malaysia with red identity cards and those without citizenship. Recently PPP Wilayah Persekutuan at its weekly ‘People’s Service Centre’ has received complaints that many case are still pending approval and many application for blue identity has been rejected.

It is alarming to know that thousands of Malaysian’s who are born in Malaysia are without citizenship till today. What is more surprising they are still carrying red identity cards. Recently, Two years ago the Deputy Home Affairs Minister has indicated that there are thousands of applications pending at the ministry for citizenship. They are Malaysian’s by birth, they have their birth certificates issued here, their parents are Malaysian citizen, but they not have citizenship.

It is perplexing as we have personally send quite a number of application for citizenship for the people who have come seeking for help at our service centre. We know the interview process could be tedious for some of these people, the knowledge and understanding of spoken Bahasa Malaysia is one of the requirements by the ministry. We will bring this matter to the Home Ministry to loosen on approval requirements and the law, as it’s been a long wait for them. Some of these applicants are in the age bracket of 60, 70’s, and 80’s who have waited for 30 years or more.

It is rather urgent for some them as time is not favourable for them, we hope the Home Minister, YB Dato’ Seri Hishamuddin would give some serious thoughts to this issue and approve the citizenship application for the deserving ASAP.

Not right to say the Chinses community is ungrateful!

In an election anything can happen, everyone has the right to make his or her own decision. What Perkasa have said is their opinion but they do not have the right to call one ungrateful. The majority of the Malay does not share his opinion, which is extreme. It is definitely not right to ignore anyone just because one did not vote is a selfish statement by Perkasa Ibrahim Ali. It is also not right for Ibrahim Ali to make such statements which will further bring damages within the BN coalition, his statement will only anger the Chinese. If that is the case than is it right to say that BN did not get majority of the Malay and Indian votes too in Hulu Selangor.

We in Barisan have to be strong united and move forward with the concept of 1Malaysia in mind. I noticed during the by election in Hulu Selangor the BN component parties worked very hard as a team for BN’s victory and that’s the spirit that is needed within the coalition. BN coalition should also quickly do a study why the votes have rejected and find a solution. BN have ruled the country for the last 50 years with 2/3 majorities and why in 2008 the voter’s have rejected BN needs to be analyzed.

We all know there were several factors that brought about in the lost of BN in several states and even losing several states to the opposition in the last general election. Failing to recapture the Chinese community could be only short term, the Chinese voters will realize that our Prime Minister is sincere and committed in carrying out his duty. Not only the Chinese but also the Malays and the Indians’ will realize that our premier means business to bring about changes and transform the country to a next level where it will benefit everyone. Therefore, we need to give him a chance and support his ideologies’ moving forward as the NEM has lot in store for the country and its future.

Hulu Selangor by election is a victory for 1Malaysia

People shows support for PM’s 1Malaysia vision and his sincerity in going down to the grassroots is an exemplary victory for BN in Hulu Selangor. The victory is very good for BN and was very appropriate and the outcome today shows that the people are shifting towards BN. The voters are aware the opposition are only rhetoric and do not deliver, this has happen in Hulu Selangor between 2008 - 2010. BN candidate the new member of parliament for Hulu Selangor have won by 1,725 majority shows that the people of Hulu Selangor are sincere in wanting changes and improvement for Hulu Selangor and have voted for BN for this purpose. This expectation of the people must be fulfilled and I trust Kamalanathan will deliver vigorously as promised during his campaign and believe Hulu Selangor will be forever BN’s seat if the voters are not disappointed. I notice in this election the countries No.1 person the prime minister himself worked very hard, not leaving all the other component parties who have played their role in this meaningful victor for BN.

Knowing Murugiah who always twist and change his story is nothing new to what he has quoted yesterday in Tamil Nesan. Earlier before the courts decision Murugiah have openly said to the media that he will gracefully leave PPP and would not disturb or make any statement if the courts decision does not favour him. Today he made a statement in the Tamil daily that he would appeal and keep on fighting till the end, this again goes to show that this man has no respect for the law and will do anything. He should abide by the verdict and do what Datin Paduka Chew Mui Fun did, by stepping down honorably if he is man of principle. He should also refrain from making any statement on PPP or trying to represent PPP. He has hoodwinked many in the past and most of his followers have return to Datuk Kayveas leadership once they knew that they are in a sinking ship.

The upcoming Hulu Selangor by-election will be another chances for the people of Selangor to undo what they did during the last general election in 2008. It could be an assessment for the Pakatan in Selangor but for Barisan Nasional it would be to see whether the people have accepted them.

In the last general election people have just voted against BN due to many factors but presently under the leadership of Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, we can see the changes and the sincere approaches taken by the BN government to help the rakyat regardless of race. Within a period of one year our premier have implemented many ideas for the betterment of the rakyat and the interest of the people at heart. The NEM unveil by the Prime Minister yesterday has everything affirmed for the people and I believe BN is in the right direction. Therefore, the people of Hulu Selangor have another chance to cast their votes and I have strong feeling that BN will win.

Although candidate plays an important role end of the day the people will accept whoever BN selects taking into account of the 1Malaysia concept, and PPP will work with any candidate for the interest and the unity of Barisan Nasional. The people of Hulu Selangor this time around need to cast their votes more wisely as the Pakatan government is just rhetoric and have not done anything in the state or for the fact in Hulu Selangor to bring any changes. It is only BN government can deliver and bring changes and development for the country.

PPP as a multiracial party noticed that the new approach shown is encouraging, especially when race is not the main criteria in its implementation and no one will be left out. Since YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak took over as the Prime Minister of the country he has been trying very hard to bring changes that would benefit everyone in Malaysia and looking towards to see Malaysia as a developed nation by 2020

It an excellent idea to have a country with a high-income status and with a higher per capital income, Malaysian will be placed among the developed nation’s and the perception no one will be marginalized is very good for the countries 1Malaysia concept. Our beloved Prime Minister has said, “Under the NEM, inclusiveness will enable all communities to contribute to and share in the wealth of the country” is a very honest and a sincere approach by the BN government.

It is good to note that under the new scheme actions will be based on the needs, merits and will be transparent in its approach. I hope that the ETP will be successful as many graduates are jobless and unemployment is increasing everyday and under the NEM approach many would likely to benefit in the future. The government need to address the issue “if subsidies is reduced or removed would this affect the people or what are the implications” While I agrees in the reduction of subsidies as this would reduce the countries deficits but what other alternatives do we have, the government needs to address its weaknesses in the policies first before its implementation.

It is good to improve and upgrade the skills of the locals and at the same time looks into ways in reducing the intake of foreign labour, which is competitive and cheap. If we succeed in the intake of reducing foreign workers, it would greatly reduce unemployment and this could be incorporated as part of the NEM policy.

Fire victim in Setapak, Setiawangsa received aid from PPP Setiawangsa yesterday, Datuk A. Chandrakumanan handed over the donation to the victims. In the picture Madam Puniawathy with her two children's lost everything in the fire which took place on 19 March 2010 at about 3pm while everyone are at work. Along with her two other families too received an donation of RM500 ringgit each which was donated by PPP Setiawangsa. Looking on from left is Mr. Simon Suresh, The Acting Division Chairman of Parliament Setiawangsa. A. Chandrakumanan who is also the PPP Federal Territory Chairman said that PPP would write in to get PPR houses for the affected families and would bring up the matter to Dato' Sri Zulhasnan Rafique, who is the member of parliament for Setiawangsa. A total of six families are affected in the fire but three of them need a shelter badly as they are now residing at the nearby MIC hall. PPP hope DBKL would allocate PPR houses for this families soon as they have school going children's.

"Latest News" Dato' Nasir Safar have resigned from the PM's Department

While the Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak is trying very hard going to the grassroots, building the rapport within various races living together in this country to enhance peace and harmony, but here we have one person within the system undoing what is being done. How can we have such a racists person working in the highest office in the country, this will destroy the 1Malaysia concept and the prime minister's goodwill that he has been building since he took over office.

Last week the visit by our beloved Prime Minister to Batu Caves was very good but today such statement coming from Nasir Safar have thrown everything back into the drawing board. Is he helping BN or sitting in the Prime Minister Office and working for the opposition? Nasir is very shallow in thinking and does not fit to work in the Prime Ministers office. Whatever he spoke is very seditions and has affected and hurt the feelings of the Indian, Chinese and the entire Malaysians very badly, and he should resign immediately. Further the Home Minister should take immediate action against Nasir under the Sedition Act, as we BN do not condone to such unhealthy behaviors.

Everyone as the right to speak and ask what they want and end of the day is up to the government whether to approve or not to approve. How could Nasir make a statement saying that he would revoke the citizenship of the Indians and the Chinese, this is tantamount to creating racial tension and outrages which he should also apologies publicly for his stupid statement. I believe the Prime Minister will take an appropriate action against him.

Foreign investors should not be seen to be getting preferential treatment, even in sectors that are not so high-tech, in our desperation to get more FDIs. A FRIENDs wife who leads a small but enthusiastic organisation of Malaysian Indian women entrepreneurs was invited to a business information gathering last Sunday. The event, held at the National Union of Plantation Workers building in Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur, was supposedly to explain procedures for applying for government grants and small loans.

As it was slated for noon to 2pm, lunch was also on the agenda. But as she and the other eager entrepreneurs found out yet again, there is no such thing as a free lunch. They knew that something was not quite right as soon as they got there. The place was teeming with members of a political party with a reputation for wacky leadership tussles. Im not going to name the party, except to say that it is a component of the ruling coalition. Before this lady and her friends could figure out what was going on, they were ushered to the back to have lunch first.

They had quick bites and went on to register themselves for the talk on grants and loans. Instead, they were given stickers with one of the party leaders image meant to be displayed on their blouses and laminated identification tags stating that they were members of his supporters club. That was about all they could take, and promptly walked out. But several people, desperate to get any form of political connection to ensure the success or survival of their fledgling businesses, stayed back. Apparently, no information on grants and loans were disseminated when the guest of honour finally arrived, about two hours after the stated time.

There are similar cases involving other parties, although not in such a crude and in-your-face manner.

Attack on places of worship is unacceptable!

This cowardly act is unacceptable, such thing do not happen in Malaysia. But this is not new anymore since 12th GE, people are doing things more openly and the latest issues on church attack’s is an extreme act, the authority should get down to the bottom of this and make sure the culprits responsible are charged. It is very disappointing that such incidents have occurred which threatens the stability and the security of the country at large. The people who resorted to such tactic have no respect for their own religion and do not belong to this society and should be charged under the ISA. Malaysia has preserved peace and harmony for the last 52 years so please do not destroy this over the ‘Allah’ issue where some are taking advantages for their political gain. PPP strongly condemns this act of destroying a house of worship, which is not acceptable and one should be ashamed and repent for their action. I strongly believe there could be some hidden agenda behind this attack to degrade BN and its administration by some unwarranted party, so please be aware and act wisely.

All this while the Non Muslims in this country have never raised or used the word ‘Allah’. Why these is suddenly an issue over this word, the Non-Muslims have only used ‘Tuhan’ all this while or ‘God’, therefore do no exploit the situation as this is no good for country like Malaysia when various multi-racial group are living together peacefully. Even though some Muslims might say it is okay to use the word, but is it really necessary? I have never used the word ‘Allah’ I am not sure about others, let’s not be rhetoric for personal gain’s but look into the angle where we all can stay united. There are certain groups who are out there to destroy the unity we have preserved all this while for their hidden agenda, the younger generation should not fall into this trap but should able to make decision prudently on issues revolving around them. KUALA LUMPUR 25 Dis. - Kementerian Wilayah Persekutuan dan Kesejahteraan Bandar mencadangkan supaya mereka yang berpendapatan RM3,000 ke bawah dapat dikategorikan sebagai miskin bandar di bawah Rancangan Malaysia Kesepuluh (RMK-10).
Menterinya, Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin berkata, langkah itu perlu dilakukan memandangkan kategori miskin bandar tidak boleh disamakan dengan definisi miskin yang diguna pakai di bawah sistem data kemiskinan e-Kasih sekarang.
Katanya, justeru definisi baru miskin bandar ini akan membolehkan lebih ramai warga kota mendapat pelbagai bantuan kerajaan sejajar dengan hasrat mewujudkan kesejahteraan bandar.
”Namun harus ada perincian lanjut pada maksud pendapatan bawah RM3,000. Maksudnya bukan semua yang berpendapatan bawah RM3,000 layak.
”Sebaliknya kita tengoklah berapa orang anak dan perkara-perkara lain sebelum boleh kata orang itu tergolong dalam miskin bandar,” katanya selepas menghadiri Majlis Sambutan Hari Krismas anjuran Parti Progresif Penduduk (PPP) di sini hari ini.
Sementara itu, Raja Nong Chik berkata, antara perkara paling pokok berhubung bantuan yang akan diberikan kepada mereka yang tergolong dalam miskin bandar ialah soal perumahan.
Sehubungan itu katanya, beliau yakin kerajaan akan memberi lebih peruntukan pada aspek itu yang akan diperbesarkan lagi di bawah RMK-10 selain bantuan-bantuan lain yang akan diteruskan seperti unit saham amanah.

Wanita PPP Wilayah Persekutuan telah menganjurkan program Kembali Ke Sekolah pada 27 December 2009 di Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent, Setul Kuala Lumpur. Pengerusi Majlis Cik Samalah berkata mereka telah memberi bantuan beg, peralatan sekolah dan kasut kepada lebih dari 180 murid-murid yang akan pergi ke Sekolah pada Januari 2010.

Ini juga adalah program tahuan anjuran Wanita PPP di WilayahPersekutuan. Pada masa yang sempena program ini beberapa aktiviti telahdianjurkan untuk kanak-kanak seperti “Coloring Contest”, dan mereka juga telah memberi Sijil Cemerlang kepada murid-murid yang telah mencapai prestasi yang tinggi dalam peperiksaan UPSR baru-baru ini.

Pengerusi PPP Wilayah Persekutan, A. Chandrakumanan yang turut hadir berkata program seperti ini perlu dianjurkan bagi mengurang beban kewangan ibubapa khususnya pada hujang tahun. Oleh sebab itu PPP WilayahPersekutuan menganjurkan program ini setiap tahun. Beliau juga berterima kasih kepada UKHWAH yang telah menaja makanan untuk program pagi ini. Beliau juga mahu rakyat yang belum daftar di e-kasih supaya daftar dengan segara supaya mereka tidak ketinggalan dalam bantuan kerajaan kepada rakyat yang berada dalam kategori Miskin Tegap, Miskin dan Miskin Mudah.

PPP Christmas Open House

PPP Christmas Celebration received overwhelming response from all walks of life. More than 6000 people from outstation including Kuala Lumpur City folks took the opportunity to drop by at PWTC with their family members indulge themselves with the varieties of Malaysian spread. There was presentation by young children’s from Tunas Budaya, an Indonesia choir group of 20 performed Christmas Carols, Portuguese dance performances, and many more singing and dancing non-stop for 3 hours. PPP President Datuk M. Kayveas also took the opportunity to give away school bags’, school kit and school socks for more than 250 children’s. Among the VIP’s present were the Federal Territory Minister YB Dato’ Raja Nong Chik, Barisan Nasional Secretary General, YBM Dato’ Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor, Ambassadors, High Commissioners, component party members, the rakyat and PPP members from nationwide. Thanks to PPP for organizing such a great celebration inline with the call for 1Malaysia concept.

Uncalled statement by Zaini Hassan, very racist and sensitive, it is not for him to judge what the Indians are! While the Prime Minister is working very hard towards 1Malaysia, trying his best uniting the various races living together, but here we have one individual trying to destroy what that has been preserved for the last 52 years. It is not right for him to make reference about the Indian’s based on one individual and he should not drag the entire Indian community in the country into this topic, which tantamount to create racial tension, he should be picked up under ISA. The Home Minister should check his statement made, which is degrading and hurting the Indian community. My personal opinion the ministry of education should consider EST and Moral Education as optional subjects too. For the science stream they should give them option to switch this two subjects in the 10 subjects.......

"Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, Tamil Language, Tamil Literature and Arabic will count towards the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) final grade if they fall within the maximum 10 subjects that can be taken by students in the examination.

Education director-general Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom said this could be done if certain elective subjects were dropped.

“As an example, students who want to study medicine have to take Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry but can drop Physics while those who opt for engineering can drop Biology,” he said.

When contacted by The Star, Alimuddin added that students could then choose to replace these subjects with the Chinese, Tamil and Arabic languages or Chinese and Tamil literature options.

It is only when students have already chosen their maximum of 10 subjects for the SPM and want to take an additional two – which must be either Chinese, Tamil or Arabic Language, and Chinese or Tamil Literature – that the results of these two subjects would be listed on the SPM certificate but would not count towards the final grade.

“The grades for these additional subjects would be listed as A to E and will not be evaluated according to the new grading system being implemented for the SPM from this year,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced last week that students sitting for the SPM could take two additional subjects but the results would only be based on 10 subjects.

He had said in June that students would be allowed to take a maximum of 10 subjects (the six core subjects in the SPM are Bahasa Melayu, English, Islamic Education or Moral Studies, History, Mathematics and Science and electives making it 10 in total) in the SPM from 2010.

Muhyiddin, who is Education Minister, said the about-turn was decided by the Cabinet following requests by certain quarters that the ministry allow students to sign up for 12 subjects.

Elaborating further, Alimuddin said the 10+2 formula applied to students in all streams.

“The additional subjects will only be taken into consideration by the Government for its scholarship programme if they fall within the 10 subject maximum and if students want to use the results for entry to teacher training to become language teachers in either Chinese, Tamil or Arabic,” he said.

Alimuddin said students could also use the results for these additional subjects for entry into Tamil, Chinese or Arabic degree programmes in public universities.

“Those in the joint science and religious stream can also take an additional subject, which is Arabic,” he said.

Suspension bridge who is responsible?

We lost three young life recently in the Kuala Dipang bridge collapse, it is timely to take swift action against those responsible for this tragedy. The contractor could be one of them responsible for this incident, but how did the authority or who ever in charge allowed this contractor to build a bridge and who approved the bridge. The fact that it will be used by children’s could have been a know factor to these people and safety should have been paramount, so how did they allowed this suspension bridge to be built without design as claimed by the Works Minister is puzzling. I disagree that the other reason the bridge collapse is due to overload is totally unacceptable. The collapse is due to the authorities negligence in not supervising the contractor’s work efficiently or just taking for granted that it is only a small suspension bridge.

DAP advisor should prove allegations

The opposition’s are being very unreasonable and should not take it personal when the Federal Government implements something especially when it benefits the people. Similarly the National Civics Bureau should not be regarded as a threat and to bar state civil servant, students of state-owned institutions of higher learning and staff of state government-linked companies from attending such courses is inappropriate. I do not see any harm in the program, if its benefits the people it should be carried on, the opposition should prove that certain things which are being taught through the program could create racial tension. This is tantamount to provoking the various races living together peacefully for their political gains and the DAP advisor could be charged under the sedition act.

Further the opposition never appreciates what the Federal Government does and they are not going to appreciate this ‘BTN’ program, they are afraid that the Federal government will penetrate to the people before the next general election through such programs. Why should there be a public inquiry on BTN, Lim Kit Siang has got nothing better things to do I think, now that he is trying to find faults in the BTN courses? What he is saying is hearsay, anyone can say anything just to instigate and make matters worst for one’s political gain. This are the selfish politician who do not care about the people or about their wellbeing, they are only interested about their position and power. The DAP advisor should stop making rhetoric speeches I think to a certain extend the people are fed up with his attitude and he is should retire.

Our Prime Minister is doing a good job by trying to bring all races together under the 1Malaysia concept and we should give him chances to make sure that we achieve the objectives set in the NKRA for the KPI. If there is resistance from the beginning whatever you do and say will not go down well, I thing the opposition is the one is being racist and constantly painting a negative picture about the Federal government in whatever they do. The allegation made by Lim Kit Siang is very serious and he should prove what he say’s is true else he should face the music. PPP To Serve Murugiah Notice To Resign As Deputy Minister

JOHOR BAHARU, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- The People's Progressive Party (PPP) will be serving a notice to Senator Datuk T. Murugiah Monday to ask him to vacate his deputy minister post within 14 days, said its president Datuk M. Kayveas.

Speaking to reporters after attending PPP functions here on Sunday, Kayveas said the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department should resign as he had obtained the post when he was still a member of the party.

Murugiah was sacked from the party on May 16 this year.

Kayveas also said the party would be holding an open contest for all Malaysians to design a new logo for PPP.

First, second and third prize winners will respectively receive RM5,000, RM3,000 and RM1,000 while RM500 will be given to three consolation prize winners.

Details on the contest will be made availabe at www.ppp.org.my beginning Dec 7.

The Education Ministry’s directory-general announced that there is an increase in Sciences and Mathematics passes with more scoring A’s in the USPR results. This goes to show that the policy introduced to teach Science and Mathematics has bear fruits and there is more reason why these two subjects should be maintained in English. The government should listen to the people especially issues, which are close to their heart, and education is something that needs attention. Tun Mahathir have highlighted this and he knew very well that there was a mistake and he rewind this before be step down in 2003. Therefore, today we have seen the success of the policy through the second batch of students from this scheme and we should be proud of their achievements as more student’s have scored A’s in both these subjects.

Rice subsidy should reach the deserving

The government is coming out with various incentives and programs for the rakyats from time to time. We need to act as a bridge between the government and the rakyat to ensure such incentives reaches the person who deserves it. Rice subsidy is one of the program from the government, we as leaders must be prudent else we will be faced with complaints and criticism that the government is not doing anything to help the poor’s. The decision to sell the PPR MTEN and DBKL houses is very timely. The announcement made by the Prime Minister showed that BN government is concerned about the people and their needs. The selling of this PPR and DBKL houses was mooted by the former Federal Territory Minister YB Dato’ Seri Zulhasnan and was launched in PPR Intan Baiduri than, but today its has become a reality and definitely the rakyat will be very happy. Reason given by tourism minister is not acceptable

Our ministers must learn to answers any question with care without hurting any ethnic group when post to them. They must show their professionalism when replying to media or to the opposition. The recent reply given by the tourism minister in parliament to the opposition MP is totally unacceptable on why the tourism promotional DVD is not in Tamil. As China, India has the second biggest population of the world and such reply from the minister is totally unbelievable.

The Prime Minister is working very hard to win back the people and to bring them back to BN with his 1Malaysia concept. How are we to achieve this KPI’s when we have ministers who do not even know how to answer simple question and creates problem for Barisan Nasional. She screw up once when she was asked to comment on the RM1 million payment made to Todt, today she give an unreasonable reply by saying that most people in India communicate in English, therefore it is not necessary to have the Tourism promotional DVD in Tamil version.

My question is why leave out the next biggest pollution in the world when it is simple to just add in one more language whether it is Hindi or Tamil. So put aside your egoistic and work for the betterment of the rakyat.

Federal Territories new role entrusted in 2010 budget

The 2010 budget have widen the role of the Federal Territory Ministry and was asked to tackle urban poverty eradication not only in the Federal Territory but nationwide. This means more work for the Federal Territory Minister as the Prime Minister have requested the ministry to come up with a comprehensive plan “Action Plan” to address urban poverty. Being renamed the Ministry of Federal Territories and Urban Well-being it now needs to come up with plans and to implement suitable programmes to address the urban poverty. Therefore, this means does the Federal Territory Ministry needs to work with the City Hall and the Municipal councils nationwide to identify these low and medium income group?.

My million dollar question is how are we going to achieve this objective and how are we going to identify this urban poverty when there are lots of unsettle issues in the Federal Territories which requires the ministries attention. We the Federal Territory PPP would like to play a role in this program as we too are constantly in communication with the grassroots. We used to have programs to eradicate poverty by giving out goodies, getting welfare helps and incentives to many till today. It is good to note that our beloved Prime Minister who is also the Finance Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak have put the people above all to address this issue which is very true that the urbanization rate is increasing rapidly. This new role entrusted to the Federal Territory Ministry hopefully will go down well and reach the targeted group accordingly to achieve the objectives. PPP believes the ministry under Dato Raja Nong Chik will excel very well and reach out to this group as per the responsibilities assigned.

PPP hope the RM48 million allocations for this purpose will be used prudently to eradicate the urban poverty as this will go along way to help them and give the confidences towards 1Malaysia concept and BN government. This goes to show that our prime minister means business when he delivered his maiden speech on the 2010 budget and is serious about transforming the economy and have outlined core strategies for the well development of the people. Since the budget has been based on 1Malaysia concept “People First, Performance Now, we should support and give our fullest cooperation for its achievement.

A desperate attempt!

As information Chief of the party, I have all information what’s happening in and outside party

He his hoodwinking the people and is misleading everyone in a desperate attempt just to continue to have publicity for himself. Daily publicity is like food for him, without which he can live. Two days ago he said that he had received a letter from ROS asking him to appeal against his expulsion. But the very next day the chief of ROS gave a statement to clear the ROS being dragged into his mischief. ROS chief denied the existence of any such letter and his claims were false. Immediately the next this fraud twisted and said that the letter came from Home Ministry’s KSU and not from the ROS chief. Yesterday he went to both ROS and KDN to file an appeal to reinstate him as PPP president. He should decide where he wants to appeal and he cannot be making an appeal to both ROS and KDN.

When he compliant to ROS about his sacking in May 2009, ROS very clearly have advised him to appeal to the party within the 14days as per party constitution, as until the party’s appeal process is completed decision he cannot come to ROS. However, he was arrogant, adamant, and stubborn and refused to appeal to the party as per party rules. Instead within 8days without even notice to any members, he crowned himself as president without a nomination nor election process. The 14 days appeal period lapsed and ROS declared that his sacking was correct and his so called self crowning illegal egm was invalid. Therefore his recourse is with the party and not with ROS anymore or KDN. Furthermore, the appeal period allowed by ROS for him to appeal have expired on the 14th Sept, and it is silly of him to go back to ROS and push them to reinstate him as PPP president when his sacking is still not appealed and he now remains a non member. Under no rules or regulations can ROS appoint any sacked member into a society. His current attempt is absolutely wrong and misuse of his power as a deputy minister.

He have accepted the decision made by ROS and Home Ministry on 12 August 2009 when ROS announced that his sacking has also been found to be have been conducted according to provisions in the party constitution and was deemed valid. He now denies knowledge of receiving any documents. This is why I say that he is a liar and a fraud. Because immediate upon the announcement he already have said that he will consult his lawyers whether to appeal. He chose not to appeal and decided to offer himself to join other parties. He negotiated with and had talks with UPKO, PBS and Gerakan they all rejected his demand as they cannot guarantee to have him remain as deputy minister. Then he said he will decide in 2 months his plans. Then he made a statement that he will join another party as a deputy president and will announce the following week the name of the party, as he claims that he is an asset to the BN. What came about from all these is that he is now termed as a big liability to any party and with his constant negative publicity with lies after lies with not one information being true or correct, he made a u-turn and says he wants to go back to PPP. If this is a genuine attempt by him, then he should write in to the party to be considered. Instead he sues the President and expect the rest of the party to accept him.

He is a very confused person not knowing what he actually wants in politics. He had a golden opportunity given by Datuk M kayveas to progress in politics even though he is not the senior most person in PPP. He ranks after some 19 very senior personalities in PPP. By appealing to ROS and KDN he is barking at the wrong tree. What other antics he has have yet to be seen.

He is a sick person

Murugiah is a very sick a person, everyday he got some flavors’ to add on to his story and today in the latest development he wanted ROS to reinstate him back into PPP. On the first place he should have appealed to the party, that is the right thing he should have done, but today he have said that he will seek the Register of Society’s help to return to the party is the biggest joke of the year.

Few weeks back he wanted sue ROS today he wanted ROS help, something is seriously wrong with Murugiah. Earlier he also made claims that he have invitation from at least three component party’s asking him to join them, what has happen to this, I think none of the component party wanted to take him because of his unwarranted attitude.

I have said earlier this guy is publicity crazy and now deepavali is nearing he is trying his cheap publicity stunt again to get media’s attention. He have said earlier that he will deregister and bury PPP therefore I don’t think he is fit to be a member of PPP anymore or for that fact I think our members would not want him again in PPP too. So we don’t understand why is he in such a desperate state to get back into PPP now after all this drama. The very party he wanted to deregister and bury? These claims by him that he has 157000 supporters are all mere bullshit and lies there no truth to his claims or what’s so ever. He is trying all he can to safe his deputy ministers post.

Tian should apologies to Bagan Pinang voters!

In response to the statement by Tian Chua in Malaysiakini today, the Federal Territory PPP would like retaliate that he (Tian Chua) owes an apology to BN and to the voters of Bagan Pinang.

Tian Chua should accept reality that Pakatan have lost in Bagan Pinang and it is shame of him to say that in rural areas the people are move vulnerable and could be easily influenced by giving them money. Tian Chua should be charged for blaming BN because he said that BN have used money politics, can he prove this? He should accept the fact that BN is working very hard and the voters are awake and seeing what is happening, further they are accepting the 1Malaysia concept. The people know exactly that Pakatan is not doing anything, but only squabbling among themselves. PAS, PKR and DAP are only interested to talk bad about BN and nothing else.

If Pakatan have won this by election, he would have said that people have voted for changes and but now he is like sour loser, he got the cheek to say the people are susceptible to material gains and threats. What does the opposition thinks about the rural area people, you think they are so cheap and they will bend backwards for monetary gains? Tian Chua owes an apology to the rural people in Bagan Pinang by uttering that money can buy this people. It is not Tian Chua’s concern who BN chooses to be the candidate of Bagan Pinang, it does not matter anymore because election is over, go and prove if the person is convicted or corrupted before the election not now. Before he comment on BN’s candidate and their creditability he should first go and see what is happening in Pakatan run state, who is administrating Penang, and what is happening in Selangor.

Tian Chua must make a public apology immediately by making a degrading statement about BN and the voters of Bagan Pinang.

The new grading system for SPM must be differed!

The implementation of the new grading system for SPM should be differed until next year. Students should be informed first before it is implemented and it is not fair to put pressure on these students at the eleventh hour before their examination, which might affect them greatly.

No doubt it is good to set higher standard, but the benchmark must be set first and students must be prepared towards this benchmark. It is good to have higher standard, which will segregate the excellent, best and average. It is also necessary that before this new grading system is implemented the ministry of education set a KPI for the standard of education and its teaching methods. Teachers must be competent in their teaching to expect their student to excel in their studies.

The Federal Territory PPP feel that the new grading system for SPM is definitely an excellent idea but strongly urge the Ministry of Education to reconsider it’s decision in implementing the system for this year, simply because students are not prepared for it within such a short period when the exam is just one month away. This would add pressure on them, which is not good especially during examination and would affect their performances. It would be good to inform the students and brief the schools on the new grading system before its implementation and it would be wise and appropriate to start this grading system from next year.

Further there are three candidates from Batu, how can this be effective? Appointments should be spread over and represented from all the divisions in Kuala Lumpur, so how was this appointment made. During the last BN meeting which was chaired by YB Dato’ Seri Zulhasnan, PPP was promised on this appointment and the former FT Minister said than that this will be looked into as we are the only component party sitting outside. My damn feeling says that BN should look into the welfare of its component parties first as the saying goes “welfare starts from home”.

Kugan's death: Cop to be charged tomorrow

After more than eight months since Kugan Ananthan had breathed his last, at least one policeman is expected to be hauled to court tomorrow over the 23-year-old detainee's death.

The latest development comes 48 hours after the deceased's family and supporters failed in their bid to submit a petition to the King in protest of the snail-paced response from the authorities.

Contacted this evening, a senior police officer confirmed that a suspect would be charged tomorrow.

Although it could not be ascertained how many would face the rap, the source said: "I strongly believe that it is one person."

"We don't have the details pertaining to the case as the matter is being handled by the Attorney-General's Chambers," he added.

It is believed that the police personnel would be charged at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court early in the morning.
Malaysiakini later learnt that there is a possibility the AG may defer his decision to charge the suspect tomorrow.

Concerned groups have long complained about the lack of prompt action concerning the case, which exploded into a national issue after a video recording revealed severe lacerations on the deceased's body.

Case classified as murder

Following the massive public outcry, Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail classified the case as murder.

Subsequently, 11 police personnel were reassigned to desk duties pending investigations.

Kugan had died on Jan 20 at the USJ Taipan police station, five days after he was picked up in connection with a car theft case.

The deceased's family had accused the police of foul play, and a second post-mortem commissioned by them revealed that the youth was beaten, burnt and starved prior to his death.

Two days ago, some 20 people, including Kugan's family members, attempted to submit a petition to the King to call for a speedy probe into the case.

The group was led by opposition parliamentarians Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) and S Manikavasagam (PKR-Kapar).

Gobind had demanded that the attorney-general come forward and explain why nothing had been done in the past eight months.

"The entire country cannot understand why the silence on the part of the AG, who had already classified it (Kugan's case) as a murder," he added.

The first post-mortem concluded that Kugan died due to fluid accumulation in the lungs.

Also pending in court is a suit filed by Kugan's mother against the police for seizing items from the office of Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) pathologist Dr Prashant N Sambekar who performed the second post-mortem.

He wants to be the Home Minister, IGP and the AG???

The Prime Minister must do something, this cannot go on YB Murugiah is everyday confusing the people and he his full of lies, yesterday he made a statement in New Straits Times (refer to page 4 prime news) as though he is the Home Minister of the country, IGP of the country and on behalf of the AG. Firstly, he should stop taking about PPP or its members before even advising the public on the ‘cow head’ issue. He is not fit to talk about this because detaining and charging the people does not come under him, it is under the jurisdiction of the Home Minister, Dato’ Seri Hishamuddin who should be making such statements. What was Murugiah doing when the incident took place in Shah Alam, he just kept quite and watched it to happen. By now everyone would have forgotten about it, but today he have remained the people again on the issue and instigated them during a by election is not right. There are lots of other issue effecting the people he can talk and bring up, as a deputy minister, he should know when to talk and what to talk, whenever he open’s his mouth.

He also made a statement in NST yesterday stating that 157,000 members from PPP have quit the party is highly defamatory! He needs to prove this, as we in PPP HQ have not received any resignation to-date as his claims. He could be charged for making such statement against the party when he is not a member anymore, he is just trying to cheat BN and the public that he has 157,000 supporters. Murugiah is constantly looking for cheap publicity and overstepping on others, especially during by election as he know whatever he say’s will be carried by the media. Our members and its hierarchy are fed up with his unwarranted attitude and wanted him to refrain from talking about PPP or its members.

Barisan Nasional should be very careful with him when he is linking a BN component party and calling himself as a BN Supporter Club. Other BN component parties should be aware of his dirty tricks and take note of his disgruntled attitude, BN once made a decision that their component partners should not accept a members who were sacked from a another component party, this policy should be observed by all.

As a Muslim, I felt disgusted when Home Minister Hishamuddin Hussein chose to stand with the protesters who caused a national uproar. A group of Muslims use an animal sacred to another religion and incite racial tensions, and yet he says the protesters should not be blamed?

He even had the cheek to say that the protesters "had no intention at all to bring the cow's head and invoke racial sentiments or cause tension."

"What nonsense? It is an insult to our intelligence, let alone us Muslims! Is this the kind of Islamic justice we are portraying? No wonder there is so much misunderstanding about Islam.

Building a temple among Muslim/Malay majority area is not acceptable to the protestors? We have so many places in Malaysia where temples, mosques and churches are built near to each other. I don't see anything in Quran or Hadith that says it is wrong.

I see mosques being built in non-Malay majority areas, so can non-Malays now protest if we are to built a mosque in a non-Malay majority area?

Take a hypothetical situation. If they are to step on our beloved Quran or bring a swine's head into the compound of a mosque to protest, can Hishamuddin say that we cannot blame the protesters for doing so ?

When other people have been detained under the ISA and arrested for attending candle light vigils or wearing black T-shirts, how can the home minister say we cannot blame a group of protesters with a very clear intention of inciting racial and religious sentiments?

Worse, it is done during Ramadan which we Muslims observe as a holy month, and this act of insulting another religion is still acceptable by the Home Minister's standard?

No wonder the non-Malays and right-thinking Muslims have turned their support away from BN when such statements can come from a BN leader at a time it is talking about 1Malaysia ?

Barbaric act by some shallow minded people!

This barbaric act created by some 50 residents who protested with severed cow’s head does not represent the entire Muslims community of the country. It is sad such things are taking place after 52 years of independents and the person responsible for this illegal protest should be charged for disturbing public peace and harmony. Such an act is unwarranted and is highly sensitive towards the Hindu religion and is not acceptable. There are way’s one could express their view but not in such a seditious way.

The 50 odd protestors have no ethic they have provoked racial and religious hatred among the people, which is very sensitive. One should not forget that we are living in a multi-racial society. Everyone’s religion is enshrined in the Federal Constitution and tolerance should be observed, what more when we are moving towards 1Malaysia concept. It is very shameful this group have acted in a cowardly manner on the relocating of the temple during the holy month of Ramadan. It is punishable under the law if anyone brings threat to the nation’s security. Therefore, this people must be punished for endangering racial harmony of the country. The Federal Territory PPP strongly condemns such behaviour and wants the authority to take immediate action on the people responsible for inciting such a move.

PPP wooing voters for BN

PPP goes to the grass root in Permatang Pasir to woo voters to go out and vote for Rohaizat Othman BN candidate this Tuesday said its President, Datuk M Kayveas after visiting some of the voters in Taman Himalaya here today. He said that the voters are happy to receive them because in the past it is only PAS who goes to their area regularly to ask for votes. Kayveas said that there are some changes in the people as they have realized that the opposition has not brought any improvement to the people in Permatang Pasir in the last 20 years. He also said that 2008 general election is a different scenario but it is no longer the same as of today. Even though Permatang Pasir seem to be an oppositions stronghold, it looks good for BN as BN will not lose badly. And, a surprise win by BN cannot be ruled out. The efforts put in by the DPM and his team had created an impact on the people. Further, the 1Malaysia concept by our PM seem to have brought added confidence among the people who believe that BN is sincere in its efforts to make changes to win the hearts of the people who in 2008 went against the BN. PPP have 305 voters with 197 Indian’s, 72 Chinese and the rest make up of others. Datuk Kayveas also said that every vote counts and wants the voters to exercise their rights on Tuesday by making a wise choice when casting their votes. Although 305 voters are not too many to count but PPP will ensure that the 305 voters will support BN as these votes will be come a decider if there is a narrow win for either party. In any election one must accept that every vote counts.

PPP doors are shut say's Kayveas

There is no truth in his claims, because I sit in the supreme council and we make major decisions, he was called by the disciplinary board to answer the allegation, but he never turn up, so he was sacked on 16 May 2009 and was given 14 days to appeal, but he never appeal and when ahead to crown himself the ‘illegal president’ of the party on 24 May 2009. He should ask himself what mistake he has done, he has forgotten that the party gave him the position and the deputy ministers post which is from PPP, what he thinks he wants to keep the position forever?

Murugiah never wanted to meet Datuk Kayveas despite several attempts made by several senior party leaders he was just arrogant and obstinate on his decision. How could he say that Datuk Kayveas asked him to make a public apology when he did not even come to see him, and he his talking about reconcile, when Datuk Kayveas has clearly said that the doors in PPP are closed for Murugiah. I think he has gone crazy to say that Datuk Kayveas is jealous and scared of him, he should not forget that Datuk Kayveas is the one who put him there. If he say’s that most of the component party supports him, my advise to him is to go the party which gives him the majority support and he should understand that no one is indispensable. If he is a gentleman he should resign from his deputy minister’s post immediately as it belong to the party in which he is no longer a member as per party constitution article 6.10. He has brought so much disgrace for the party and its leadership within the last 3 months, we PPP also wanted the police to investigate on the bullet casing case which is still pending because we wanted to know the truth on this matter.

Datuk M Kayveas the rightful president!

My phone had been very busy today from 4.30pm, even some media’s called to confirmed the news until I received an sms at 5.30pm confirming the news. Datuk M Kayveas is the rightful president of PPP, the sacking of former Youth Chief T. Murugiah is according to the party’s constitution and the so called EGM conducted by T. Murugiah on 24 May is not valid, said Home Minister Dato’ Seri Hishammudin Tun Hussien who announced this today after chairing its post-cabinet meeting.

"Investigations also showed that the sacking of Datuk T. Murugiah from the party is made based on PPP constitution,"

In line with this, Hishammuddin said, Murugiah's "appointment" as PPP president at an extraordinary general meeting on May 24 was not valid as it did not comply with the requirements under the PPP constitution.   "The matter has been investigated from various aspects, including obtaining the views of the Home Ministry's legal advisors," he said.   He said investigations showed that Murugiah had no locus standi to act as party president, use party platform or carry out any activity related to the party.   Hishammuddin said PPP had been advised to take legal action if Murugiah continued to use the party's name.   He said that he had met both leaders and felt that they would be able to accept ROS' decision.   

Murugiah's presidential bid hits a snag

It appears that former PPP Youth chief T Murugiah has hit a snag in his bid to establish himself as the president of the party.  According to a source, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) has refused to recognise his so-called Emergency General Meeting on May 24.

The source said the ROS has stated this in the report which is now with Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.  He added that PPP party president M Kayveas and his two vice-presidents Maglin D'Cruz and Lee Heng had attended the Barisan Nasional supreme council meeting today and Kayveas has been briefed on this matter.  It is learned that Hisahammuddin will discuss the matter with BN chief and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak before officially making a public announcement on the ROS report.

Membership recruitment illegal

"ROS only recognises Kayveas as the legitimate PPP leader and this means that Murugiah is without a party and all his attempts to recruit members on a so-called parallel PPP party is illegal.  "He (Murugiah) had wanted to attend various state BN meetings but has been denied entry. He has hoodwinked the so-called members that he had recruited into believing that due recognition will be given by ROS in due time.   "But now ROS is only recognising PPP members that have been approved by Kayveas," added the source.  There has a running battle of words between Kayveas and Murugiah as to their claims of being the rightful president after the PPP's supreme council sacked Murugiah.  Murugiah had crisscrossed the country to recruit members for his so-called party and had claimed that the figures are in the thousands.  Early this month, Kayveas took Murugiah to task, urging the latter to confront him directly instead of using his supporters to issue press releases.  The president has since filed defamation suits against seven of Murugiah's supporters.

Allow PTA EGM

The relevant authority should allow the Parents Teachers Association Extraordinary General Meeting to go on as schedule. It is their rights to hold the EGM to air their grouses over the reversal of the policy on the use of English for Science and Mathematics as long as they follow PTA's constitution. PPP is of the view that the Ministry of Education should allow the meeting to go on as required by the PTA and it is not fair to stop this meeting. The ministry of education should hear them and their grouses and appeal seriously as the decision might jeopardize our children’s future. At least the ministry should allow the current batch of students to complicate these two subjects in English. It will be unwise to revert back to Bahasa Malaysia in two years before sitting for SPM, the government should understand the dilemma the parents are going through due to this changes and consider their appeal. Finally the government has not given enough time for the policy to talk about its success or failure.

It is an embarrassment to the opposition!

It’s a shame of Lim Guan Eng and the Pakatan leaders to stage the ISA protest on the first place when the government is already reviewing the law. Lim got the cheek to blame the IGP for cracking down the protest, does he know what damage they have brought to the people and nation by organizing such activities and what he expect the police to do, sit and watch? The police have to take care of the peace and order of the country and they have been merely carrying out their duties.

The opposition has planned this rally purposely so that they could use this against the BN government when police takes action the demonstrators. This are the opposition tactics, they also instigating the younger generation to turn into violent and against the government and wanted to keep the momentum until the next general election and hoping that the people will vote BN out. But they are wrong, people are watching what is happening, the rakyat do not want this type of leaders & protestor’s, it has wasted resources, time and money. Action should be taken against the Pakatan leaders for using javelins in such protest.

The opposition is hoping to have a clash with the police, they know they will be picked up, they wanted the rakyat’s sympathy and wanted the people to blame the government as their support from the people is declining. The opposition have nothing to lose about 5,000 people came but they claim 50,000 gathered is another propaganda staged by Anwar Ibrahim and his stooge who played this game yesterday. The opposition leaders should not resort to such tactic but should look into reforming the countries economy together with the BN government that is more urgent now rather than staging this type of activities, which does not bring any benefits for the rakyats.
